Teaming up with the angelic Dutch songstress Maruja Retana - who previously worked with Fedde Le Grand, Marco V and Robbie Williams’ producer Guy Chambers amongst others - Basto presents the single Electric Stars. The single will be released as the official theme for the Heineken Ibiza Final 2014: an Ibiza based event held at Ushuaia where Heineken celebrates both the closing of the UEFA Champions League tournament as well as the start of the Ibiza summer season.
An additional remix was handed in by Belgian producers Alvar & Millas, rapidly emerging talents who officially remixed Britney Spears and Beyoncé. The duo’s tunes may count on the DJ support of a.o. Steve Aoki, Ferry Corsten, Showtek, Chuckie, Cedric Gervais, Nari & Milani, Yves V and the world’s #1 DJ Hardwell.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Powerhouse music is considered to be one of the most promising new record labels coming from the Netherlands. Basto from Belgium joins the label but not with the sound we know him already. His track Electric Stars moves on the modern drum n bass / dubstep style with soulful pop touched vocals by Maruja Retana. The melodies are touching and sunny perfect for Ibiza parties. It's great track with big potential. Of course the festival house crowds have their share of happiness as the single includes the brilliant Alvar & Millas remix. Tough bouncy grooves, heavy loaded electrified basslines and summery sunkissed warm synths in the breakdown that enhance the top vocals even more.
