The masterful Airwave lets loose with this solo effort after a recent run of top notch collaborations. As well as the Original, 'Triangle' comes with two superb remixes. Laurent remains at the top of his game, his workload as producer and DJ is stacked high but this doesn't stop him creating exquisite cuts. Lots more lined up for the future that we cannot wait to hear!
The Original is a wondrous trek deep into the heart of progressive house. The intro gets right to the point with a tough edged kick and a very cool arp that captivates throughout. A deep bass holds the track together beautifully as flowing rhythms are built. Stunning pads run through the track in a subtle manner yet pack a huge punch. The synth work is amazing, creating melodies that intertwine perfectly and climaxing at the break. An infectious journey that will keep you coming back for more, great stuff Laurent!
The first remix come from Swedish quartet Inkfish. We first got introduced to these guys through their remix of Nico Parisi's 'Caress' which gained a lot of support, the remix made it into many charts and featured heavily in many sets from top jocks. Here the guys waste no time getting down to business, a nice chunky kick is coupled with a smooth percussion line and the rhythms then begin to flow. The bass creeps in beautifully and is soon joined by a full on arp sequence that gives off a purely energetic vibe as it flows through the track. The break offers up some grungy licks that adds a cool character to the sound before getting right back into the main groove, another top notch effort from these guys and not to be missed.
Solar Fields aka Magnus Birgersson is our next remix artist on this fine track, he is a music composer with a litany of releases including 10 solo albums. We last saw Magnus on Manu Riga's stunning 'Everything Comes To An End' and here is no exception. The intro gets right into the flow with a nice and snappy arp with smooth percussions in the background. The groove gains momentum as distant hats and cymbals come through before a monster kick gets the grooves really flowing. Nice synth pads bring up the rear and offer a cool contrast to the gritty edge. The bassline ramps up the sound big time, a lot of energy comes off it and adds to that gritty feel throughout. A very intense track indeed that will see a lot of action in those tougher sets.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The trance scene is proud to have as a member someone so talented like Laurent Veronezz. The Belgian producer proves that his country is always at the forefront of music styles and is the land that exceptional personalities like Airwave come from and spread love with their productions all over the world. The original mix of Triangle is deep melodic progressive trancer that will carry you away and travel you with the speed of light on magnificent mysterious spaces. The tribal techy beat, the driving pumping bassline and the spiral like synths that come and go surround your mind and slowly uplift you from the ground. You can close your eyes and give blood and bones to dark characters and magical landscapes. Airwave never fails to indulge your senses and remind you that music is art and not just breakdown and drops. Inkfish are legendary and their productions stand out from the crowd. For this particular remix adopt their very disco house bassline and chunky groove and apply on top the classy synths and warm strings. The result is a very deep dark and continuously involving and revolving remix that is so fresh, original and breathtaking that makes you feel hopeful about the future of our electronic dance music culture. They never fail to impress and once again give a lesson or two on how good remixes should be arranged. Last but not least Solar Fields remix will impress with chunky cranky bouncy grooves, industrial music basslines and the excellent synths on top. The breakdown is really short and calming and his climax is straight forward with the addition of some acid layers. It reminds me productions by Thomas Heckman. Triangle is Deep progressive trance at its very best and most inspiring that progressive house djs can play as well. #PureGold Love IT
