In 2013, DarXoul featured on label boss Che Armstrong's 'Dexter' release. The track received some great feedback and support, which included DJs such as Armin van Buuren (supported on his warm-up set for ASOT 600 in Beirut), Slam, Tilt and many more. After that, they knew they had to come together again for a new release.
The guys have created the track 'One Night In Paris'. One one side, we have the original mix, which has a driving techno feel. The track has some nice percussive elements and vocal stabs that add to it's dark energy. The track also has some progressive influences thrown in, giving it a great crossover appeal.
On the flip-side we have Che's Deeper Mix. Che takes it down a notch, and has delivered great melodic techno version. Again, we have some really good percussive elements, and the vocal stabs. However, this mix adds an extra dimension with the warm sounding pads throughout the track.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Axon recordings is the top progressive house label headed by Che Armstrong with big success so far. The latest release comes from the label owner and DarXoul for the brilliant One Night In Paris. The original mix is awesome melodic progressive techno at its best. It's the hybrid sound that can do well in techno sets that are not so pure or minimal but move on the forward thinking futuristic sound that techno, progressive and house elements are in play in order to create that travelling driving hypnotic atmosphere that gives the track energy and pushes the clubbers to their limits. Alive and Kicking production that switch on our imagination and switch off the outside world. Che attempts with big success to turn the track into a more minimal deep tech house version that is packed with atmosphere that is mysterious, surprising and manage easily to carry away your body and soul! If you love emotional electronic dance music don't miss this EP. Love iT
