REVIEW: Thomas Mengel - Sophistication out on IAMPHOENIX

After a month off, IAMPHOENIX returns with the start of a huge slew of forthcoming records. The next few months will see some of the biggest and best signings to the label yet, including a new Kenneth Thomas single and charging club monster from Tim Iron and one of our favorite signings so far from new comer Landence.

But first we welcome Thomas Mengel back to the imprint. He's quickly becoming our own in-house progressive house maestro. He continues to blur the lines between big room progressive house with classic edges. This one has a great analog throw-back lead reminiscent to late 90s Underworld, Faithless or Brainbug - Nightmare.

This one is for the big room house heads!

Dimitri Kechagias review: IAMPHOENIX so far manage to capture our attention and in each and every single release to turn our head to the speakers and take a notice. The brand new release on this always fresh, exciting and progressive minded label comes from the hands of Thomas Mengel. Its called Sophistication and is gonna be big. Its already supported by the influential Ministry Of Sound TV YouTube channel and there is an explanation for this. Thomas delivered one of his finest productions today with composition that keep you dancing breathless on the dancefloor. The breakdown opens with a very cool piano melody that has that sophisticated touch to it. The huge violin melody takes the lead and drives the track towards its damaging climax. Euphoric progressive house at its very best with melody that stays in your head for many days after you hear it in a club and ensures that you will search for it when you are back home. The euphoric part is followed by the dirty greedy one with agressive raw electro kissed basslines upon the pumping booming groovy techy beats. Its one of those tracks that you never get bored of them and the club crowds react to it with big pleasure. It's a festival anthem without doubts and will do the damage you usually expect from  IAMPHOENIX releases. Love iT
