Dimitri Kechagias review: Its always big pleasure to receive material from new record labels like the brand new imprint from the legend Dino Lenny called Fine Human Records in cooperation with Armada Music. First of all good luck for the record label to both parties involved in it. The first release is by Loden In NY and is called The Magic Room. The track comes in 3 very tasty unique versions that each one has its own very intresting story to tell and we have our big ears wide open to absorb any single sound layer used in them. The main distinctive element is the male singer that starts by narrating the lyrics and later as the track progress he starts to sing as well bringing the story in a certain climax or we can call it point of catharsis. First of all is the Astin remix. Its an eclectic deep tribal tech house version with rolling groove and deep basslines. The vocal remains in the background while on top of his distinctive groove adds various strange spacey sounds and even distorted vocal samples as well. After his breakdown he applies cool little funky guitar licks while the singing indie rock style part is coming in. The remix overall sounds very minimal stripped down to its basics, very spiritual, magical and inspirational as well. Dino Lenny is doing the 2nd remix and I must confess that this version really touches the listener in a very subconscious way. The tracks foundation has a wonderful breaks like laid back groove with funky basslines and superb piano chords. Particularly when the singing part starts you will feel the hair standing still and your body will be lifted from the ground. Its difficult not to feel breathless and pleasantly surprised during its 8.25 minutes of deep smooth inspirational electronic sounds. Lastly Joshi Mami remix is an even deeper minimal version that is based upon chunky groovy drum beats and funky basslines that create the very special hooky rhythm that keep you dancing along. The vocal is used quite stretched as well. The breakdown reveals the huge classical orchestral music theme that highlights the magical side of the room that he describes in his vocals. In Joshi's remix the singing part of the vocal is vanished as well. Overall is a very promising release that raise the bar and raise our expectations as well. Some words About Fine Human Records
Things move fast these days, everything needs to be done faster easier and in the most convenient way. They say that the future can't wait and technology doesn't like to look back. But somehow in this process we feel that we have lost a key factor: we call it the Human factor.
At FHR we think that not everything needs to fit in a pigeonhole, we still like a vocal on a groove and a musician playing on a drum loop. I know it's strange but sometimes we also like Djs that mix slightly out tempo but then put it back in time.
All this gives us the feeling that there is human being behind an emotion. We would rather have a imperfect unique experience rather than a precise emotionless never-ending loop.
And that's why we want our music to sound like it's made by an genuine Human intuition. And that's why we will always try to make and present to you the best possible Fine Human Records.
