After a stellar year of sell-out performances and credible chart topping releases, international DJ, producer, remixer and label boss Jon Rundell is back with a bang.
Both tracks are designed to cause maximum damage on the dancefloor and mark a development within Jon’s sound, delving into slightly tougher realms than previous releases such as ‘Multiplexing’ and ‘Technocrat’.
The EP’s lead track, ‘Fifth Generation,’ get things underway offering high tempo pounding beats, sinister synth lines and trippy build effects to create a dark and eerie atmosphere.
‘Dark Tunnel’ continues the mania with a tense warehouse feel comprising of distorted driving rhythms, heavily effected futuristic stabs and an alluring pitched percussion texture.
With this release imminent, 2014 is shaping up to be another standout year for the talented Londoner which has already seen him play his debut at Mexico’s prestigious BPM Festival, entertain crowds in Italy, Spain and Norway, and looking forward to forthcoming performances at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Amsterdam’s Awakenings Festival and Intec’s return to London’s legendry Fabric with Carl Cox on April 3rd.
Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the hottest artist and techno dj returns on Etch. Jon Rundel is back with two very powerful dark techno tracks that have the energy and intensity that you aspire to get from any super strong techno banger. Fifth Generation is a massive thunderous techno cut that has the immense groove and the irresistible rhythm that will be impossible to resist its impact on the global techno floors. Sinister synthy leads, siren like sounds and pounding industrial beats will make you sweat for sure. You better be afraid of the techno attackers. Dark Tunnel on the other side has the appropriate title that describes well the content. Dark dynamic techno anthem with relentless bouncy grooves, excellent drum percussion, deep haunting basslines, strange sound effects and distorted synthy lines that build that feeling of isolation and cold mechanic sound that is what techno is all about! When you enter the Dark Tunnel better put some signs to find your way back home cause there is no guarantee that you will easily get out! Two techno bombs in one EP! Love iT
