German producer Maik Relaunch makes his full debut on BP with the outstanding progressive fuelled 'Far Away EP' which comes with five tracks in total. After a slew of top remixes for the likes of Airwave & Phi Phi, Thorin and Sector 7 we are delighted to have this gifted producer enter the Bonzai stable. Relaunch has also been a stalwart in the JOOF camp with top class track and remixes gaining huge support worldwide.
First up we have the title track 'Far Away' which intros with a cool rising synth before crashing into a chunky kick and deep bass combo. Percussions slowly come through adding a crisp edge to the deep bass vibe. The track takes on a Psy persona with classic Psy elements peeking through while staying on a progressive course. On the break a stunning melodic sequence adds a stark contrast to the track which will definitely get the attention of many, superb stuff!
Next up we have the might 'Dream Remote', right from the off we are locked into a deep progressive vibe as the bass rumbles through accompanied by a cool kick and beautifully crisp percussions. Tension builds through the track with the help of some very cool sweeping synth FX and teasing melodies. As the groove powers on relentlessly it becomes clear that this track will keep you in its grasp for the duration. On the break things take a wonderful turn as uplifting melodies are thrust into the sound which only fortifies the grip already in effect. This is truly a masterpiece in progressive trance and one that will be a firm favourite for many many jocks and clubbers alike, stunning!
'Air' takes us deeper into the progressive arena with a strong full on stomper. Very cool deep basses and chunky kicks are accompanied by wispy FX on the intro before the percussions get the rhythms flowing. Very well structured sounds reveal a solid groove which continues to build and forms into a superb slice of prog. Sweet melodies sweep through the break giving a nice contrast to the sound before the track powers right back into that solid progressive groove, brilliant stuff. '
In The Music' comes at us in two versions, first up is the Main Version which settles into a powerful progressive vibe from the get go. Tight drums and percussions are arranged beautifully as a throbbing bass binds the track together. Superbly constructed synths weave a melodic pattern throughout as the track takes on a hypnotic edge. The melodies become prominent on the break as they grip the hairs at the back of your neck and send shivers down your spine, amazing. The Prog Version is very much in line with the Main Version but is more focused on the deeper side of the track, we get the same full prog experience as the chunky kicks deliver a solid punch alongside a stunning deep bass. The melodies make a show here also which really sets the track up. A definite must for any DJ box, not to be missed.
Dimitri Kechagias review: One of those artists that you should be aware is Relaunch. For me his name is a guarantee of high quality and his name attracts me like a magnet on any release I notice his name. His latest EP on the top Belgian record label Bonzai Progressive brings 4 excellent tracks. Far Away is a powerful energetic and very driving deep progressive trancer with tribal meaty beats, deep basslines and melodies associated with the psy trance scene. It contains also melodic themes that recall classic Bonzai tracks from artists like Airwave or MIKE. Air is wonderful track with clear prog house construction. Cool housey vocal samples here and there upon the tribal bouncy pumping beats. It has funky playful edges and awesome breakdown with emotional melodies and warm strings. The climax is energetic and very irresistible on the dancefloor. His track In The Music is included in the Main & Prog Version. Main version is proper full on prog house meets trance banger with euphoric synthy leads in the breakdown and the well known In The Music classic old school vocal sample. His climax is seriously uplifting and I can imagine djs like Markus Schulz and Max Graham supporting it! His prog version is equally packed with tough tribal grooves and bouncy pumping basslines while the psy trance infusions are more clearly stated. It has that very spacey atmosphere that make you loose it and it carries your soul to faraway places. The climax is not so melodic and continues dark and moody. Next is the brilliant progressive trancer Dream Remote that sounds faster, energetic, colourful and extremely pleasurable. Excellent breakdown with inspiring balearic melodies that nicely lead us on the very trippy, energetic and very melodic climax Relaunch for me continues the Bonzai sound from the past glorious day with a modern twist. Last but not least Love iT
