REVIEW: Muska - Gleam EP out on Monster Tunes

As we move ever closer to the big 100th release we welcome back one of our most recent and regular featuring artists on Monster Tunes, for no less than three stunning progressive belters in one neat little package!

Argentine ace Muska has risen through the ranks at warp speed in the past year or so, which has seen him ‘gleam’ support from all corners of the globe including DJ’s Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz and Dash Berlin, to name a few.

This EP shows off more of Muska’s fine production credentials and solidifies his place as one of the best 2.0 producers in his field right now, with lead track ‘Gleam’ adhering to Muska’s proven formulae of wondrously uplifting melodies, firmly backed by crisp percussion layers and topped off with expertly arranged vocal edits.

For second track ‘Blackout’, Muska drops the tempo down and creates a much darker, moody, hypnotic affair, loaded with dark vocal edits and a killer techy lead synth – this one mirrors Progressive House in its truest sense!

Final track ‘Neptune’ picks up the pace again and returns to much more familiar surroundings for the talented Argentine, which sees a brooding bassline combined with luscious melodies for an almighty epic finale to this truly great EP!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Monster Tunes is one of those labels that has open ears and eclectic ear for new exceptional sounds and styles. The latest EP by Muska proves that open minded attitude with 3 exceptional tracks waiting to be discovered and played very often in your dj sets. First of all comes the stunning Blackout. It's very cool super funky electro house smasher that works like a treat on any floor that needs dirty groove, slamming chunky underground beats and super cool composition that will hypnotize you on the dancefloor and will be the perfect choice to bring mayhem on the dancefloor. Gleam is the first of the two melodic progressive trancers included on this EP. Mesmerising melodic themes, emotional euphoric synths and slightly distorted chopped vocals that add to the track the very positive euphoric happy side. The climax in particular is overloaded with colourful synths that make you feel like being in sonic heaven. You will feel totally absorbed from the sounds and you will feel hard to leave the sonic soundscapes that this exceptional producer offers to his listeners. This is what I call melodic euphoric progressive trancer with style. Lastly Neptune is the more aggressive electro smasher with heavy sharp basslines, chunky bouncy beats and very strong melodic themes. In the breakdown includes even a very strong and in the right place breakbeat sequence that keep the clubbers  occupied until the climax to come with euphoric synths and energetic driving basslines that create the right groove and irresistible rhythm that invites you to dance along. Are you going to take the challenge and let it all out? Love IT
