REVIEW: Beckwith - Anandia EP out on Anjunadeep

Firmly established as an integral Anjunadeep family member with tracks like "Craymal" and "Back To Love", Beckwith has built a reputation as one of one of the most exciting house producers to come out of New York in the last few years.

The "Anandia EP" sees Beckwith develop his trademark blend of deep bass and melody with a newfound layer of grit, as heard in the acidic beast that is the title track.

Building unassumingly from a rolling groove, the track strips back to the bare bones leaving just a distorted vocal refrain before a squelching acid line takes the track into serious late night territory.

"Clarion" is a bouncier affair, showcasing hints of old-school garage influence with shuffling drums and another distorted vocal weaving between a growling bassline.

Rounding off the EP is "Life" (feat. Javi), another bubbling groove complete with stylish male vocals from Javi, a rugged, dancefloor ready bassline and crisp, punchy percussion.

Release Date: 10th March 2014

Dimitri Kechagias review: The highly eclectic record label Anjunadeep is at the moment one of the most successful record labels in the house scene and there is an explanation for this well documented fact! Anjunadeep manage to break boundaries and allow the producers to showcase what they can do without dictating how they should sound in order to fit the label sound as there is no only one sound, rather many sounds. Anjunadeep in my opinion represents the polyphony in house music with melodic, deep, classic garage house sounding or even deep trancy influenced tracks as well. Beckwith is one of those artists that is super hard to pigeonhole and limit the creative genres that he can work with. His latest Anjunadeep EP will raise his profile even higher and will help him to reach even more audiences. Anandia is the title track and will definitely make you feel relaxed and mesmerized too. The deep basslines, the chunky groovy beats, the various melodic layers and the distorted pitched down vocal samples are combined in the finest possible way to build the magnificent soundscape that you can actually see taking flesh and bones in front of you when you close your eyes. The final sequence that works like climax is simply irresistable and very hypnotic with that unforgetable hair raising acid line that energize your senses to the maximum. On Life he goes towards the deep house sound that has touches of balearic house too with funky quitar licks. Melodramatic strings, cool melodies, old school acid house flavours and the sexy male vocals as well that simply lift the track to the next level. Dark and colorful at the same time definitely bridges the past with the future in the most creative and promising direction. Last but not least Clarion  is another magnificent piece of modern danceable electronica that has strong references to old garage house sound but is definitely more than that. The distorted vocal samples, the excellent atmosphere, the retro strings and melodies build a very irresistable track that is engaging and eargasmic to say the least. It sounds so old school but so futuristic at the same time. This EP is #PureGold. Love iT
