REVIEW: London Grammar - Hey Now (remixes) on Metal & Dust / Ministry of Sound UK

The Arty remix has already seen huge support from Armin van Buuren, Sebastian Ingrosso and David Guetta, we are now finally pleased to unleash the one single everyone has been requested to be released.

Just over 12 months ago, a previously unheard of trio by the name of London Grammar posted a track called ‘Hey Now’ online.

That perfectly crafted song caught the imagination of bloggers and music fans across the UK and beyond, setting in motion one of the biggest breakthrough debuts of 2013.

It’s only fitting then that following over 3.9 million plays, ‘Hey Now’, the track that first introduced Hannah Reid, Dan Rothman and Dot Major to the world, is set to be released as an official single on March 16.

Since that first post, London Grammar have had their first BRIT nomination for Best Breakthrough Act, sold out three national UK tours and dates across Europe and Australia as well as the US where another tour has recently been announced for March.

Their highly acclaimed debut album If You Wait, has now sold over 250,000 copies (since its release in September) and was named Album Of The Year by iTunes and amongst the best albums of 2013 by BBC 6 Music, Sunday Times, Line Of Best Fit and Clash to name a few.

With things in the US continuing to escalate at a rapid rate, the trio made their first US TV appearance on prime time talk show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this week ahead of playing Manhattan and Brooklyn dates.

Dimitri Kechagias review: London Grammar are definitely one of the best electronica related groups with excellent melodies, sophisticated production standards and of course meaningful lyrics with breathtaking performance that cast a spell on you straight away and you feel haunted by them. Hey Now is the next single with brilliant remixes. The Russian megastar Arty service his superb progressive house meets trance version that will be appreciated from both camps. Very melodic, romantic, driving and absolutely mesmerising with awesome piano melodies in the breakdown and huge climax that will cause damage on the floors and drive the clubbers in tears straight away. Arty is the best choice to transform the original intro a prime time hit and I believe that this remix should be pushed to radio station playlists along with the excellent original. Bodhi remix is a minimal deep tech house version with analogue warmth and experimental approach. Its those remixes that creatively touch the original and make it perfect for nice late night deep house sets. Now the remix package becomes even more extensive with additional remixes. Tensnake adds his deep house touch and he crafts a magnificent deep hypnotic remix with long intro funky techy bassline, pumping beats and beautiful electro pop style synths. Retro new romantic version with certain futuristic touch to it with spring optimism and flirting tendencies! On the same deep house direction moves the KDA remix that is hypnotic, mesmerising and packed with so many emotional signals that will be impossible not to crawl under your skin and touch you deep in your soul.  Planet of Sound deliver the tribal deep tech house version with long atmospheric intro with organic percussion and little guitar riffs. The main body of the track is balearic with exotic atmosphere that manage easily to transfer your mind. Magical synths on top work perfectly to hypnotise you and absorb your senses in its mysterious soundscapes. Lastly Bolobo remix  is a fantastic blissed chill out hypnotic version to calm your senses and make you feel like a liquid. Perfect for the next Cafe Del Mar style compilation. #PureGold . Love IT
