REVIEW: Jason Ross - Burma out on Monster Tunes

Sometimes in the A&R game you hear a track that literally blow’s you away, and ladies and gentlemen this track did just that! Hailing from the EDM hotbed of the USA, Jason Ross was not a name familiar to us at MT HQ that was until a demo was passed our way by Monster regular Muska.

‘Burma’ is the track in question, a uniquely crafted piece of art, which seamlessly blends gorgeously epic piano melodies with tough nitty-gritty electro style basslines to create an exceptional hybrid of electro, trance and all in between! This production has all of the elements which are good about the ‘EDM’ type sound and certainly is not all about the ‘drop’.

This one is certainly hot, just like Burma!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Monster Tunes is definitely the label that can keep you excited and amazed on every single jaw dropping release. The surprise factor is running high on the latest banger by Jason Ross called Burma and can be summed up in one single and overused but so powerful word that is MASSIVE. Burma is magnificent combination of powerful electro infused basslines, pumping bouncy beats and ethereal exotic Middle East vocals that add that mysterious and inspirational edge to the track. It reminds me in a way the vocals from the well known trance anthem Two Full Moons & A Trout by Union Jack but placed within the unexpected context of big room EDM sound that is usually harder, punchy and focus on the basslines and less on the melodic content. Burma follows the codes and conventions of EDM in order to be recognisable and receive multiple plays from the big players in the scene but develops the genre even further by highlighting the twists and turns in the composition in order to make it very cinematic, atmospheric and as it is noted in the press release "is not all about the drop". EDM that is more musical and  emotional but very danceable and jumping at the same time. Highly recommended. Love iT
