During ADE 2013, the first Dutch edition of the traveling music concept ‘Sonos Studio’ was held in Amsterdam. From Wednesday through Friday, a series of interviews and live sessions took place with various international and local artists. The renowned Kompakt label from Cologne played a central part in the program, a collaboration which led to Sonos shooting a documentary that tells the story of 20 years of Kompakt. For only 1000 Deutsche Marks, Michael Mayer became partner of Delirium Records, the shop that would lay the basis for the internationally acclaimed Kompakt imperium. Together with Wolfgang Voigt, Jörg Burger, and the rest of the Kompakt family, he now runs a shop, a booking agency, a distribution centre, and of course the prolific and versatile Kompakt label. Friendship and an unbreakable passion for music still form the foundation of the company as it is today.
