1. Volcano (Original Mix)
After a stellar kick-off of the WYM label with ‘So Get Up!’, Cosmic Gate passes the torch to the promising talents of Canadian duo Eminence and Icelandic producer Johann Stone.
Their weapon of choice is ‘Volcano’, a tasty, dark bite of tech-trance. A sure-shot in the sets of Cosmic Gate & Armin van Buuren, this one will be spreading fast.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved, highly regarded and very influential duo Cosmic Gate established their own record label and after their huge tornado size anthem So Get Up we were waiting the anxiously for the 2nd release and finally is out now. Eminence from Canada and Johann Stone from Iceland combine their artistic forces to compose something immense and absolutely Godzilla size future global anthem. Volcano may sound very strong for a track but actually is one of those cases that the title represents exactly the content. The track is difficult to pigeonhole under certain category as the influences are coming from wide variety of sources and styles. It actually overshadows existing categories and you can easily name as a Wake Your Mind style record. The label and sound of Cosmic Gate can easily be new style without doubts. With heavy techy groovy drum beats, slamming kicks, electro inspired playful and very aggressive basslines, huge euphoric synths in the breakdown and even larger climax that drops and causes soundquake Volcano has the word Anthem written all over it. Its what someone can easily play in progressive trance, big room, progressive house, mainstage set that targets the peak time moment as it will be hard to find other tracks to follow and match up its intensity and velocity levels. If you like watching National Geographic documentaries about Volcanos this track will make you feel like being nearby the next Volcano that after years of silence is going to awake and erupt hot lava all over the place. Highly recommended. Love IT
