REVIEW: Andrew Bayer - Perth / Mirth Mobile with official video out on Anjunabeats

Having excelled in his more experimental side with the iTunes #1 electronic album "If It Were You, We'd Never Leave", the increasingly prolific Andrew Bayer continues his return to big room sounds with the forward-thinking trance of "Perth" and the twisted "Mirth Mobile".

Inspired by his times on Above & Beyond's Australian tour earlier this year, "Perth" coils up an oscillating and menacing tech bassline before releasing into a nostalgic breakdown that nods to Bayer's love of classic trance. Evolving into a modern big room anthem, "Perth" is a true journey and blends typically cutting-edge production with some vintage sounds.

A darker excursion full of growing funk that counters with a beautiful, deeply musical piano breakdown, "Mirth Mobile" hits like a bastard son of Skrillex and Above & Beyond (two musical forces who were unexpectedly united at The Greek Theatre recently). A genuinely unique track, it completes another impressive EP from the US producer and a reminder of his uniquely emotional and accomplished approach to EDM.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the finest EDM powerforces, the superb Andrew Bayer lands on the beloved Anjunabeats label with the massive tracks Perth & Mirth Mobile. If you feel openminded enough Andrew Bayer is ready to go against the grain and delivers two powerbangers that will move and groove progressive, electro house and even progressive trance floors as well. First of all is the amazing Perth. Its driving electro house meets prog house at its very best with emotional synthy melodies that hook you straight away and bring you with hands in the air at the very heart of the clubfloor. The breakdown is very long with feel good summery synths and super strong build up that leads us nicely in the very large climax that offers the finest pay off moment for the listener who will let yourself go for sure. If you feel down just notice the change in your mood when this in your face climax will end. The modern EDM magician continues with his dirty wonky prog house meets electro monster Mirth Mobile. Pumping and chunky it loads its various layers until to reveal the funky acid nasty bassline that will push the track to its limit towards the breakdown. It's Long, atmospheric and melodic in contrast with the rough, raw and deadly climax. Its one of those track that bytes you like a snake and the only way to stop the hurt is to go out dancing. Get Surprised, Be Mesmerised, Love iT
