REVIEW: John Newman - Cheating incl remixes on Island / Universal

John Newman, the prominent voice behind the Rudimental number 1 hit "Feel The Love" is currently taking his first solo material in the charts in Europe.

Since its release in June, it has already sold over 700,000 units  the UK number 1 single, "Love Me Again", which to date has reached gold status in seven countries (UK, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, New Zealand).

In Germany, the song shot to # 2 on the airplay charts and # 6 in the Media Control Charts.

On 11 October 2013 will  finally release the highly anticipated debut album of the talented Englishman with the title "Tribute". "Tribute" because he wants to tell his friends and family Thank you. John feels the songwriting and the recordings of his music are exclusively inspired by personal events, he sings his feelings of the soul, and so it happened with that album - which was calculated after separating from his girlfriend - without any particular intention as a kind of "breakup album". At each stage of separation there is a song on the album - but John would not see this as a thoughtful concept rather as purely random fact.

The second single from John's debut album  to hear is "Cheating" - a song that John had written years ago and now proudly presents its fans.

On 17 November John will play his first concert in Germany Berlin C-Club. The show has been moved to a larger facility due to demand from the private club.

John Newman is a true prodigy and Mastermind. He writes and produces his pieces not only themselves and gives them his voice - he is also the creative force behind his music videos, his fashion and artwork.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Love Me Again is considered to be one of the megahits of 2013 with mindblowing performance in the charts. Now the mastermind John Newman is back with his rock n roll, Elvis style, bringing back the soul to the music with his new single Cheating. His romantic retro sound is irresistible with soul, funk and rock n roll influences. His sexy dark voice arouse your senses and his performance is so energetic and cool that you are obliged to follow his rhythm and groove and start dancing  along with him. Its music that bring people together and closer with lyrics that anyone can easily identify with them and we can easily understand why. The biggest fear and even for some shame is to find out that his/her loved one is cheating on them. John talks about this struggle and how he manage to pass through this unpleasant discovery. The remix package is the finest you can get. Wookie from London and Freemasons from Brighton are on board to deliver two top versions that respect the original track and make it suitable for the modern dancefloors. Wookie adds his sweet minimal garage old school early 90's house sound and the result is an infectious danceable version that deep tech house / garage house djs will play a lot. He uses the full vocal and does his magic on it for a version that sounds mindblowing late night on radio and clubs! Freemasons are impressive as always and their remix is a top energetic progressive house epic mix of nearly 8 minutes that applies the original parts in the most effective and spacious way. Its futuristic and retro feel at the same time. Feel good to the maximum this remix should be the secret weapon to any dj who wants to get the applause and watch happy faces on the dancefloor! Highly recommended. Love IT
