Empire Of The Sun - these are the Australian electro - wizards, musicians and producers Luke Steele ( The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore ( Pnau ) . In 2008 they worked for the first time together and created a sound that seemed to come from a completely different world : the apocalyptic psychedelic - project Empire Of The Sun was born.
Their debut album " Walking On A Dream " sold more than one million and brought hit singles such as " We Are The People" , "Walking On A Dream ", " Standing On The Shore ", " Without You " and "Half- Mast " out . As a kind of forerunner of the EDM wave they conceded for their innovative sound eight ARIA Awards in Australia (including in the category "Album of the Year" ) and two BRIT Award nominations including " Best International Album ", among other awards . - "We Are The People" in Germany rose to # 1 on the singles charts and reached platinum status.
Also for their incredibly colorful and unusual video clips are known ; their videos posted on YouTube by now got over 40 million views .
Now, Empire Of The Sun are back. Their second album entitled "Ice On The Dune" was released in June . As of Emperor Steele (aka Luke Steele ) and Lord Littlemore (aka Nick Littlemore ) , the Empire Of The Sun are together, not surprisingly, they outline at the upcoming longplayer an approximately 1,000 years distant future , a peaceful world accompanied by beats, breaks and catchy melodies .
The album was produced by many well known producers including the five -time Grammy winner Serban Ghenea , Jason Cox ( Gorillaz ) , and Grammy - winner Mark "Spike" Stent , who was honored for his work with many well known artists such as Muse .
After the first single "Alive " from the album " Ice On The Dune" now follows "DNA" - another hymn - spherical track that bears the unmistakable musical signature of Empire Of The Sun and our theme again in the mythical dreamland by the kidnapped Luke and Nick.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Empire of the Sun is one of the most influential Australian groups ever and their songs will be recalled in some years as classics and very characteristic of their era. The brand new single DNA is on the high standards of their previous singles with memorable lyrics, great melodic themes and optimistic atmosphere. It will make you feel good straight away with the combination of organic elements like the nice guitars with more electronic ones like housey beat underneath. DNA will glow and shine in the night for sure. The remixes included will introduce the band to a wider audience. The fantastic Alex Metric once again does his tricks and builds such a beautiful perfect melodic deep tech house interpretation that is loungy, soulful, relaxing and you wish to play all night long but unfortunately lasts nearly 5 minutes so you are obliged to play it on repeat mode. The finest application of the guitar riff upon the bubbly beats, the deep haunting basslines and on top the great vocals. Its coming out from Ibiza beach parties for sure. JUST PERFECT. The uber talented Brodinski delivers his more experimental take on the track with fat weird basslines delivering an industrial version that is unresting, threatening, unconventional and futuristic as we like it. It will blow your speakers so play it loud and proud. The superstar Calvin Harris is on board and he service a full on hands in the air epic prog house remix that follows the trademark Calvin Harris sound that is banging, roof raising, body shaking with warm pianos and uplifting euphoric synths. Of course stand out element is the massive vocal that you simply learn by heart and sing a long with wide hands in the air. Yuksek remix is a laidback lounge house style track with old school piano and balearic house influences. So groovy, so funky, you want to clap your hands and wiggle your hips around to it. Last but not least Aston Shuffle from Sydney Australia provide the big room / euphoric prog house version that respects the vibes of the original with funked up chunky beats, electro kissed basslines, irresistible rhythm and synthy stabs to blow the speakers. Top original with the finest remix package! It will become part of your DNA for sure. Highly recommended. Love IT
