After some break, Darkpload is back to action with a new EP from label's favourite David Mayne. This time Darkpload Deep manager serves two tasty originals with a remix treatment from The Structure. First off is a lovely melodic track 'Metroplex', showcasing Mayne's great skills in building out-of-this-world atmosphere and creating smart, interesting yet catchy chord progressions. Surely one of the most iconic tracks on the label this year, which will make it into the tracklists of many DJs around the world, proves the class of David as a producer.
Remix of Metroplex comes from Warsaw's The Structue duo. Andrzej and Nikodem offer very light and easy-going interpretation of the original with strong house influences in the form of groovy percussions and some funky chords.
B-side track 'Providers' is a lot darker than the previous two tunes on the release and focuses more on the main room music lovers, as its cool main theme is with no doubt the one which stays in mind immediately after the very first listen. This EP proves that whether it's house or trance it doesn't really make any difference to David Mayne as he can effortlessly jump between those genres always bringing something which stands out of the crowd.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Darkpload releases are very unique and stand out. The latest one comes from David Mayne with his two originals Metroplex and Providers. The original mix of Metroplex is a superb deep progressive trancer with chunky groovy beats, energetic basslines and atmospheric mysterious and very cinematic breakdown. Hypnotic, travelling and very danceable production. The Structure remix is a lighter progressive meets electro house interpretation. Very smooth balearic version with great easy going composition and inspired melodic themes. Providers is the 2nd more intense and powerful production. It sounds like running upon the back of a very strong dark horse. The breakdown reveals huge dark distorted rave style synthy lead that will excite the trancers for sure. The climax is booming and very energetic so prepare to dance and sweat on the dancefloor. Love IT
