REVIEW: Andre Sobota - Tokyo Dawn / Move out on Anjunadeep

Having made a bold Anjunadeep entrance with last year's assured remix of Jody Wisternoff's "Out Of Reach", São Paulo's Andre Sobota returns with his debut Anjunadeep EP. Featuring two tracks which combined for a fitting finale to Jody's Anjunadeep 05 CD in "Tokyo Dawn" and "Move", these deep gems follow well-received releases for the Brazilian on labels such as Toolroom, Pryda Friends and microCastle.

Regularly picking up DJ support from A-list names like Sasha, Eric Prydz and Hernan Cattaneo, Andre Sobota's sound is one that draws equally from the worlds of progressive and deep house. This is immediately evident in the captivating "Tokyo Dawn", a track that combines emotive melodies, poignant chord changes, and dancefloor fuelled low end to create a unique slow-burning groove.

Having released two critically acclaimed albums under his liquid drum and bass alter ego 'Bungle', and collaborated with the likes of DJ Marky, Andre is no stranger to warm rolling basslines and utilises one to brilliant effect in "Move". Driving the track alongside some shimmering atmospherics and subtly hypnotic melodies, it's a fine example of the dynamic house music that Sobota is rapidly making a name for himself with.

Release Date: 9th September 2013

Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunadeep is widely recognised as the pioneer label in the explosion of deep house movement with exquisite artist rooster from all over the world and every corner of this planet. From the exotic Sao Paolo Andre Sobota is coming and he is confident to mesmerise his audience with his debut EP on Anjunadeep, the world's leading eclectic house label. It includes two fantastic tracks that move within the territories of deep house and melodic progressive house. Tokyo Dawn as the title track suggests is a dreamy melodic beauty with ambient intro that  slowly builds up with chunky groovy beats, funky basslines and colourful relaxing melodies with Japanese soundcolour creating a magical environment to swim within and feel the therapeutic abilities that music can only offer to its listeners. Really cosmopolitan exotic sounding track that instantly trip you out somewhere faraway. Move is the tougher more upfront of the two tracks. It has as a primary goal to Move the clubbers with its driving basslines, techy tribalish beats, exotic melodies and sound effects. Minimalistic breakdown is followed by solid build up and equally danceable climax. Both tracks offer to the listener the safe soundscape to feel at home and  lost himself/herself in Music, Pure Genius, Love iT
