REVIEW: Joint Operations Centre - Under a Sea of Birds out on Subculture

Techno vibes are back in the air, and John O'Callaghan found his way to the Operations Centre, to create some dark deep pounding tech trance.

'Under a Sea of Birds' combines elements of ambient peaceful trance chords with a pounding techno beat, and at 128 bpm this one is made for big systems.

Massive build!

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most important and must check record labels in the trance microworld is of course John O'Callaghan's Subculture. The label in its long history manage to release until now the best tracks that no trance dj can afford to go on the road without them. After the more uplifting and vocal trance offerings John acquires once again his darker alter ego Joint Operations Centre and he delivers is awesome Under a Sea of Birds. The legendary producer who has left his mark in the trance scene creates a dark techy chunky groovy banger that will be perfect to play in your darker and still dynamic first part of your dj set. The huge surprise on that record is the amazingly long and cinematic breakdown. You will feel lost in a sea for sure. Really balearic and perfect to drop in Ibiza the last months of this summer craziness. It will mesmerise you for sure with the warm strings, synths and dreamy vocals on top will calm you for a while. But don't be fooled cause this is not chill out music. The dark techy beat and aggressive bassline will return to lead the track to its climax. Subculture never disappoints and this is another shade of the same story. Love IT
