Frank Maris first featured here on Axon Recordings with his track 'The Story of Tapir', which was part of our Spring Sampler 2013 EP. Since then, we've been looking forward to hearing some more music from him.
Frank's latest EP includes the tracks 'Nieuwmarkt' and 'Capybara Obsession', and are great examples of deep house.
'Nieuwmarkt' kicks of the EP, with it's Dixon-esque piano at the forefront. The track also has a great percussive groove, which means it's certain to work on the dancefloor too.
'Capybara Obsession' has a deep and atmospheric feel, with understated melodies and smooth synth stabs. Again, Frank has created some great percussive elements, which keeps the energy just right.
Flux BPM Online recommends the two great tracks included on this top EP. If you like deep melodic progressive meets tech house sounds both tracks will please you. Nieuwmarkt with quality retro house piano chords and distorted vocals. Capybara Obsession sounds very summery and airy fairy so perfect to keep the deep house parties going.
