"Sunshine" is the official anthem track for the 2013 edition of the known Huntenpop Festival. Act behind the track is Roma; a brand new project by Dutch DJ/Producer Roel Salemink that may have more in store for the future.
Roel Salemink (known from his releases on labels like MB Elektronics, Phobiq, Deeperfect, Bush Rec) got in touch with house music in the early 90s. Initially experimenting with various styles, tech house and techno continued to be his greatest passion. Professionally, his musical journey began when he organized and promoted techno parties, turning to producing tracks in 2008. His first techno single "Manalive" became an instant classic. It spent a solid eight weeks at number one of the Beatport chart and received the support from Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Pig & Dan, Mauro Picotto, Tom Hades, Marco Bailey, Loco & Jam and others. Roel reworked the techno classic "Love Story" by Andrew McLauchlan and made remixes for Mauro Picotto, Carl Cox, DJ Pierre and many more. Earlier this year the famous Huntenpop Festival approached Roel with the assignment to produce their festival anthem for this year. The result is "Sunshine" and is available now.
Featured vocalist on "Sunshine" is Marcel Geven, the lead singer of Dutch cover- and tribute band Crystal Dream. As a popular live act in The Netherlands they've been active for 20 years and still play all the ruling festivals, concerts, open-air events and leading entertainment venues in the Netherlands. It's no surprise that Marcel's vocals fit perfectly with this festival anthem.
The energetic tech house sound of "Sunshine" creates an immediate sense of togetherness and positivity, perfectly living up the expectations of a true festival anthem. Can you imagine EDM festivals without any music? The latest festival to get his official incredible anthem is Huntenpop Festival with the track Sunshine by Roma that is DJ/Producer Roel Salemink along with Marcel Greven at the vocal duties. The result of their collaboration in the welcoming family of Black Hole recordings is a must have euphoric epic prog house anthem that follows the well known Swedish epic prog house sound that catapults the mainstream charts particularly in UK with Swedish House Mafia ex members like Sebastian Ingrosso or Axwell and of course AVICII ready for his second number 1 in UK Top 40. Sunshine is a stunning track that has the energy needed to keep the festival crowd happy and optimistic. Banging pumping beats, rough dynamic basslines and feel good epic synths along with old school piano chords as well. Marcel is a great discovery for the EDM world and I believe that he has bright future in EDM scene particularly in epic prog house tracks that demand that indie/rock style to push the adrenaline levels even higher to the mad and out of their heads audience.
