REVIEW: Kiholm ft. Josh Money - Long Journey Home out on Songbird / Black Hole

1. Original Mix
2. Kris O’Neil Remix
3. Max Freegrant Remix
4. Radio Edit

Kiholm's productions are picking up speed and after his tracks with Kris O'Neil, he teams up with vocalist Josh Money for his brand new "Long Journey Home".

Kiholm was formed in 2007 by DJ and producer Mads Kiholm. Ever since his debut “Check Out”, he has clocked up an impressive array of remixes and original tracks like"Fragile", which was voted in the top 20 of the best tunes of 2008 on “Trance Around the World” with Above & Beyond and championed by the likes of Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten. "Panacea" got airplay from no other than Armin van Buuren on his “A State of Trance” radio show and was featured several times on BBC Radio 1 hosted by Judge Jules. Kiholm's style eventually turned into a fusion of trance, house and techno. The result was “We Just Did”, which was a joint venture with fellow Dane Kris O’Neil; the two producers later on released their second collaboration, titled "Nothing Remains" including the vocals of Roberta Harrison. "Long Journey Home" is Kiholm's latest track, featuring singer Josh Money.

On "Long Journey Home" Kiholm takes off with an ISOS induced progressive track. Underlining the beats with guitar riffs and Josh Money's vocal performance, "Long Journey Home" lays down a deep floorfiller that perfectly combines elements of several styles. Kiholm's friendship with Kris O'Neil led to a spacious remix; Max Freegrant added a rougher but still progressive edge to the original.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Someone can label Songbird as  the absolute label of the summer as it has that feel good lazy balearic spirit in its releases. The latest beauty by Kiholm follows the same path and moves along the recognisable Songbird sound. Deep melodic progressive trance at its very best with tribal trance beats, excellent memorable guitar riffs and as an ice on the cake is the exceptional Josh Money vocals that stand out and can easily transfer you to  imagine yourself as a lonely car driver in the middle of nowhere. The lyrics are catchy and with deeper meanings too. The two additional remixes add their own glow and magic upon this balearic trance jewel. Kris O Niel provides the magnificent melodic progressive trance version that will remind you the good old days of balearic trance. Driving beats, energetic electrified basslines, danceable but very melodic, dreamy and relaxing at the same time thanks to the incredible guitar riff that is employed all through the track. His version continues Kiholm idea and elevates the track in a higher dimension without doubts. Emotional, sensitive, inspiring, remix  that can fire your imagination and can keep you dancing with your friends for long. Great to listen in a club environment but fantastic to listen at home as well.  Pure melodic progressive balearic trance at its best. Last but not least Max Freegrant delivers his deep techy and very dark spacey version that combines progressive house with progressive trance sounds on the well known style of Jerome Isma-Ae for instance.  The package includes great radio edits for inclusion on your non specialist programming as well. This is Summer Trance! Love IT!
