1. On Earth Mix
2. Greg Downey Remix
3. M.I.K.E. Remix
4. Extended Mix
With the track already marked up as “euphoria on tap” by MIXMAG (and scoring it 8/10 in their July issue), we’re pleased to serve up the reworks of ‘Magenta’. Remixers on station are Greg Downey, M.I.K.E. and Giuseppe himself (covertly under his On Earth moniker), who all add new shades and hues to the floor-entrancing Original.
Giuseppe’s On Earth Remix provides a diverse take on the track, consciously plotting a wholly different feel to his renowned On Air Mixes. Alive and charged with electro-set elements at the outset, it’s concussive drums, flash-zoom FX, whip-fast analogue-ish drops and distortion-driven peaks will see it set light to a different time of the night.
On his remix, Greg Downey locks the beats, bass and percs into a booming, thundering trance-progressive groove. Minute-by-minute he gradually develops ‘Magenta’s elevating mainline into the mix’s equation, finally allows the synths to reach their full sweep power at the peak of the drop.
Tying the package off, at the front end of his rework NYC-based electronic music prodigy M.I.K.E. passes the drums and percussion loops through a darker, proggier set of filters. Break-side they transpose, to stunning effect into melodic, majestic pads & chords, before he let’s ‘Magenta’s strings sing at the mix’s apex moment.
Dimitri Kechagias review: It was heavily anticipated and finally happened one of the best collaborations of the year. Giuseppe Ottaviani collaborated with Ferry Corsten for the club hymn Magenta included on Giuseppe's same titled album. The extended mix is prove to be one of the monster tracks for the summer and now the team at Black Hole recordings serves the 3 must have additional remixes on the same high quality standards. First of all Giuseppe is providing his On Air Remix. For this version he moves towards the tech trance / big room trance style. Tougher with thumpy beats, raw fat basslines to feel them deep inside and the cool breakdown reveals the euphoric original melody that you could even colourise it with Magenta. Very solid and absolutely smashing is perfect for the summer open air festivals. The uplifting trance fanatics get their share of Magenta happiness with the uplifting full on banging and shaking Greg Downey remix. The well known uplifting trance dj & producer follows the codes and conventions of uplifting trance by the book and transform the original into a huge pure trance block buster. What really stands out for me is the way he uses the original melody in his long breakdown and the way he teases the audience with it. Very calming and relaxing and when the beat returns hands in the air and smile in your pretty face. Pure uplifting trance magic at its finest way. Lastly the Belgian superstar of trance M.I.K.E. retouches Magenta in his own very unique style that remains techy, punchy and driving. Huge breakdown with the main unforgettable riff in full effect and then his climax is full on to remind you classics by his alter ego PUSH. He sounds the most appropriate choice to remix it and add his own craftsmanship. Excellent remixes, I'm already thinking to paint my room walls with Magenta colour. Love iT!
