Dezza, real name Derek Silvester, hails from Halifax, Canada and is one of those producers whose music you can continually catch in the playlists of top ranking heavy hitters such as Sander van Doorn, Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Above and Beyond, and many others. Dezza's first four singles like "Hefty", "I Wonder", "Allure" and "Seven71" quickly made it into the Top 20 Trance chart on Beatport. After being a guest DJ alongside Sander Van Doorn on Identity 107 and Tiesto’s Club Life 153, Dezza has become a fresh and exciting new name in the ears of EDM lovers. He recently remixed the Bart Claessen smash "Hartseer" and now he Canadian producer releases his debut for the Black Hole Recordings imprint, titled "California 14".
Dezza shows the competition that trance music still has all the power to enchant an entire audience on any given DJ performance. "California 14" has all the elements that make an outstanding trance smash. The addictive theme, programmed with good old sweeping synths, is supported by a guitar-like sub melody with an ultra low bass line at its foundation. Absolutely perfect for the ruling outdoor events of this season, Dezza's "California 14" is definitely going to skyrocket in the charts.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Black Hole recordings A&R crew has an ear for successful singles and they are usually right when they decide to invest on a certain artist. Next to get the Black Hole touch of success is Dezza who does his magic tricks and service something very unique and absolutely stunning. His track is called California 14 and the label named it trance. In my opinion the track is many more things than just trance music. First of all California 14 is one of the most USA sounding singles. The guitar melody and the great atmosphere makes you imagine that you drive your car in one of those huge USA motorways and this excellent melody comes out of the car speakers. It starts with nice melancholic summery kissed guitar theme and then moves on the long intro breakdown. The beat drops and the uplifting synths on top will excite the crowd for sure. Another shorter breakdown comes in to introduce the euphoric synths theme and when the beat kicks back everybody will start jumping and dancing and feeling the love and pleasure that this track radiates all over the place. With trance, house, electro and even country music influences California 11 will mesmerise, hypnotise and excite your senses. Black Hole at its very best, Love IT!
