Scottish DJ/producer Andy Duguid first featured "Skin & Bones" on his "After Dark Sessions 100" mix compilation. The collaboration with longtime friend and vocalist Julie Thompson now sees a long awaited single release including three brand new remixes.
Andy Duguid entered the scene with a bang in 2007 with "Hypocrisy". When Tiësto added Andy's hit singles "Don't Belong" and "Wasted" to In Search of Sunrise 6 and 7, he also offered the Scotsman a contract on Black Hole. The album "Believe" followed, leading to the mix compilation "Miracle Moments", recently followed up by "After Dark Sessions 100"; celebrating Duguid's world renowned podcast.
Whilst on Tiësto his Elements Of Life tour, a little seed was planted in Julie’s head that perhaps it was time to concentrate on a solo project; a thought that led to the release of her album "Feeling For Corners". Singles like "It Only Hurts", "What Will I Do" all scored big time and new collabs were released like clockwork. Once again teaming up with Andy, Julie Thompson lifts "Skin & Bones" to another level.
"Skin & Bones" definitely has all the characteristics of a trademark Andy Duguid production, but features an undeniable, new flow and feel. Submerging the entire arrangement in a lush, Balearic arrangement, it is Julie's voice that adds the touching elements to the track, making for an outstanding DJ track. Grant Lewis and the Progressive Brothers roughed the original version up for the main rooms, while Zetandel's version opts for a relaxed sunset date on the shore.
Dimitri Kechagias review: We all know by now that Scotland is a country that loves Electronic Dance Music and particularly trance. For that reason there are many well know Scottish producers who shine with their quality productions. One of them is the uber talented Andy Duguid who returns after some time on Magik Muzik with his collaboration with one of the most delicate voices in EDM, the lovely Julie Thompson. Skin and Bones is a magnificent relaxing travelling deep progressive trancer with sweet electronic style synths, tripping melody and of course on top Julie Thompson incredible voice that will crawl under your skin and will reach your bones and soul straight away. Its one of those tracks that from the first time you hear them you feel that there is magic in them. The track is supported by excellent remixes for prime time use in your set. First of all Grant Lewis well known for his tech trance production transform the original into a banging bouncy tech trance meets prog trance style version with excellent percussion and great groove along with well-timed work in the breakdown with huge distorted synthy lead taking over the dancefloor control. Progressive Brothers after their collaboration with Richard Durand strike back with an excellent euphoric proglifting trance version with tough beats, deep basslines and massive synths to raise hands and drive stadium crowds crazy. Particularly the climax will satisfy trance melodies lovers 100%. Lastly Zetandel is a name that you can trust for a nice chilling version and he delivers the goods on his dreamy creamy cooling down version ready for summer holidays. Its a huge winner so dont miss the cool package of mixes. Love iT!
