Flux Focus on Ghostpoet single Meltdown incl Squarepusher remix on PIAS

Two years on from the release of his Mercury nominated debut, ‘Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam’, Ghostpoet aka Obaro Ejimiwe announces ‘Meltdown’ - the first single from his sophomore album ‘Some Say I So I Say Light’ which will be released on the 6th May 2013 through Play It Again Sam.

‘Meltdown’ is the disarmingly honest tale of one of those break-ups where both parties simply drift apart. Scarring lyrics “you and me weren’t meant to be and someone somewhere knew it from the start” expertly encapsulate everyman honesty of thought, emotion, and shoulder-shrug acceptance of failed love.

Squarepusher, one of the UK’s most important electronic artists has delivered an exceptional sonic overhaul of the original, which will be available on 10” alongside the single, exclusively for this year’s Record Store Day.

On ‘Some Say I So I Say Light’, which was co-produced with the talented Richard Formby (Wild Beasts, Darkstar, Egyptian Hip-Hop) we see Ghostpoet’s talent has truly blossomed and that he’s pushing the boundaries even further in all directions. Immediately captivating and uniquely honest - the musings of Ghostpoet truly come to life when he performs live and to celebrate the release of ‘Some Say I So I Say Light’ Ghostpoet will be headlining a European tour throughout April, May and June.
