Thomas Mengel presents his brand new single “This Is Who We Are” on the Black Hole imprint.
27 year old Thomas Mengel is from Denmark and has so far been very active as a dedicated DJ. In his hometown Aarhus he has always been busy with organizing house events and he also played himself on various occasions. Thomas works closely with fellow producer and DJ Mike Hawkins and he's currently working hard to spread his wings and expand his career to the rest of the world. Thomas Mengel has recently mixed the third CD featuring the best classics from the In Search Of Sunrise series as part of a contest connected to the release of the 10th volume of ISOS as mixed by Richard Durand. In the past few months, Thomas Mengel released the tracks "Heliconia", "Slick Attitude" (which recently appeared on the Progressive House EP 001) and, most recently, the "Accelerate", featuring the vocals of Roberta Harrison. This brand new follow up, "This Is Who We Are', is Thomas's latest achievement.
"This Is Who We Are" leaves no doubt about what sound to expect with the original version sporting the addition "Festival Mix" in its tittle. Definitely drawing a perfect picture of Thomas Mengel's versatility as a producer, he this time brings us an energetic, big room style smash, that will most certainly hit the floors this coming summer. With towering synths, driving tech trance elements and a massive break, the dancers on the dance floor won't mind seeing "This Is Who We Are" as both a hit and a statement!
Dimitri Kechagias review: After his brilliant progressive vocal anthem Accelerate with Roberta Harison, the talented Thomas Mengel returns this time on In Trance We Trust with the huge mind boggling jaw dropping monster tune This is Who We Are. You can expect powerful banging and driving beats, energetic raw and sharp basslines and amazing synthy melodies in the breakdown along with the robotic female vocal that you can not understand easily what she sings about. Of course on this track the vocal is more like another instrument rather than saying something meaningful. The piano theme is also very original in the breakdown and calms the proceedings down just before the bulldozer size manic beats return for the climax that hides inside the magic moment you ar expect to get to uplift your spirit somewhere over the rainbow....Thomas Mengel builds his career carefully stone by stone with great tracks like this one. Don't miss it! Highly recommended. Love iT!
