Through the sounds of the 10 year anniversary edition of his beloved ‘A State of Trance’ compilation, Armin van Buuren sets a high bar for 2013. On the second sampler, he introduces us to the productions of RAM, Bjorn Akesson and AYDA.
The RAM & Alex M.O.R.P.H. remix of Dutch producer RAM’s ‘Grotesque’ lures in its listener with a mind-tingling set of strings, a flaming hot melody and a booming bass.
Russian talent Timur Chochiya, better known as AYDA, makes his A State of Trance debut. Through the emotional, big wave that is ‘Caesar’, he makes a statement. Let its warm synths and sweeping sounds rush in, and surrender completely.
Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most anticipated and highly influential compilations in the trance scene is of course A State of Trance compiled and mixed by Armin van Buuren who takes care to select only the finest tracks around and keep them exclusively for this compilation. The good news for the jocks out there is that Armada Music in the form of samplers selects the cream of the tracks included and offer them in its extended glory for djs to play in clubs and radio stations. The top In The Club sampler includes 3 great productions that will blow your mind for sure. First of all is the top artist AYDA who produces what we can call as symphonic trance with classical orchestral music themes. His track Ceasar is an epic full on proglifting trancer with a melody that will stay inside your mind for long and will be remembered for many days. When you hear it, you can not handle the feeling of being like an eagle flying and observing the earth from the sky. It gives you that sense of power, dynamism and its an absolute adrenaline charger. It moves on the same path that Armin paved with his Gaia tracks. Gunsmoke by Bjorn Akesson is already released on FSOE for some months now and we can understand that Armin loved it so much that he wanted to included. BIG room, bass focused tech trancer with strong melodic content in the breakdown and slamming meaty beats and basslines in the huge rioting raw climax. Lastly RAM - Grotesque in its Alex M.O.R.P.H. and RAM Original Mix is already released on AVA and is of course the official anthem for the Dutch trance parties Grotesque organised by RAM.
