When you talk about the Calgary nightlife community, you talk about Chris LaPietra. The personable DJ/producer has a true passion for electronic dance, a given that led to a lifelong friendship and music production partnership with the accomplished Micah Paul Lukasewich, known from acts like GU and Audiotherapy. The globally acclaimed record label Ruhnsong Recordings is also managed by Chris and has received the support of big names like John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and many others. Chris began with the guitar at a young age, leading him down the path of song writing and music production. He eventually fell for tribally infused techno and house music, inspired by heavy weights like Steve Lawler, Dubfire and Nick Fanciulli.
LaPietra teams up with TheKidBelo, the alter ego of David Brunning. David is a full time, nationally recognized visual artist with his roots in graffiti art. Having been raised in hip hop culture, TKB left the mic to pursue the spray can, but from time to time he still performs on tracks, as is the case here with the new "Kids" by LaPietra.
"Kids" is a crisp, funky house gem that breathes a lush, summery atmosphere. A groovy baseline sets the pace and TheKidBelo's vocals add a chilled, mellow feel to the entire cut. The Light Babies Bay-Side Sunrise Remix turns the original version into a housier workout with an enticing old skool feel to it; a one way ticket to the dance floor!

LaPietra presents his fantastic feel good tribal housey affair Kids featuring the excellent MC style vocals by TheKidBelo. Full of amazing percussion, drums, warm strings, funky edges and irresistible grooves that takes you straight away in the middle of the dancefloor. Kids has that great hypnotic feel to glow in the dark and glue the clubbers together into a huge congregation partying and enjoying the most important thing that is of course their youth and the miracle of being alive and kicking. It sounds ready for WMC use and abuse. If you wish to add some atmosphere, mystery, laid back feel to your set the excellent Light Babies Bay-Side Sunrise Remix is included as well with jazz house infusions, great warm lighthearted melodies and percussion to groove and move you non stop early in the morning or at the beginning of the set as a nice warm up tool.
