REVIEW: DNS Project - Gauntlet & Shatter out on Coldharbour / Armada Music

1.Gauntlet (Original Mix)
2.Shatter (Original Mix)

After a successful 2012 with tracks such as 2Day, as well as collaborations with Susana and Neev Kennedy, Estonian Rene Pais returns to Coldharbour under his famed DNS Project name with two beauties - the Max Graham Cycles 4 compilation featured Gauntlet, and Shatter.

Remembered fondly on Coldharbour with his Prague ’11 effort Another Day, DNS Project’s tracks have always targeted the eye of many top names. When compiling tracks for his Cycles 4 compilation, Gauntlet immediately caught the attention of Max Graham, and became a cornerstone of its second disc. With a melody to naturally induce stretched arms and euphoria, the track has been a consistent Global DJ Broadcast favorite with several plays by Markus Schulz.

Shatter will resonate well with those of you who enjoyed the melodies of Another Day. It is a track that slowly builds but once it gets going, you’ll find yourself getting lost in its grooves and pulsations.

Along with his fellow countryman Beat Service, DNS Project shows that Estonia is currently housing a hotbed of talent. Long may it continue.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Coldharbour recordings is nominated as best global dance label and you can easily understand why if you follow this top label for all the years. Coldharbour recordings has its own unique and very personal sound that manage to create trend and trance substyle that many producers followed and push its sound even further. One of those Coldharbour residents is DNS project who delivers constantly high quality productions that have the trippy trancyness but they are very danceable as well. His latest EP will find many supporters worldwide as it combines powerful beats and tough basslines with euphoric synths that will raise the hair from your back instantly. Gauntlett is the darker meatier chunkier brother of the two. With tech beats, deep  but haunting and energetic basslines, cool melodic content on top but with certain roughness its certainly a Big Room trance favourite. The breakdown is long and cinematic with chopped heavenly style voices and great synthy theme that soon is replaced by the ultra large synths that will excite the trancers who will get the greatest pay off moment of their life when the beat returns and the awesome trancy synths will ride on top.  On the other hand his Shatter track is more melodic with epic prog house influences in it. The breakdown reveals a mega large epic synthy theme that human mind is hard to resist and not start feeling a bit more lifted, energized and ready for parties. Feel good Ibiza summery vibes all over and the nights will never be the same after dropping Shatter on your crowd. Coldharbour shines with another must have anthem. Love iT!
