Mell Tierra presents his brand new single “The Greatest” on the Magik Muzik imprint, featuring the vocals of Maegan Cottone.
At the age of 14 Mell Tierra already got his first gigs behind the decks at local events. Only two years later he became a resident DJ for several venues throughout The Netherlands and has since then played Panama, The Mansion, Westergasfabriek (Amsterdam), Club Rembrandt (Eindhoven), Lexion (Westzaan), Sneakerz Muzik, Amsterdam Dance Event and the infamous FFWD Dance Parade (Rotterdam).
Mell has so for released tracks on Big & Dirty Records, Spinnin', Flamingo Recordings, Sneakerz Muzik, Nervous, Blackhole Recordings and Samsobeats; some of his titles made it to over 30 successful mixcompilations like DJ Jean's Madhouse, Chuckie's Dirty Dutch Aftershock, Sony Houseparty, Slam FM Clubbin’, Sneakerz and Nope is Dope.
With “Eagle Beach” Mell dropped his debut single on the Avanti imprint and this time he enters the stage of the Magik Muzik label with "The Greatest". Pushing forward a bright, enticing and good old Balearic arrangement with plenty of synth and Maegan's superb vocals, "The Greatest" may soon become one of the greatest singles for many DJs.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The up and coming Mell Tierra should be very happy for the development of his career as his latest single The Greatest is released on the heavy with memories and legendary record label Magik Muzik. This is definitely a major turning point for him. Mell delivers a high class epic progressive house anthem on the euphoric style that we like so much at the moment. His composition is solid and effective and every little beat counts in its big success. Its strong and tough with booming basslines but the melodic content is very attractive for the ear as well. It makes you think of a producer who had his equipment in the sand and he was producing while other were sunbathing or swimming around. His pizzicato style synths along with the excellent vocal by Maegan Cottone work so well to bring any human soul on the dancefloor. Her performance will remind you many big house vocalists and she seems that she has a lot of potential as her voice adds that little pop dance element to the track to crossover to mainstream pop dance stations as well. Of course for the non vocal lovers there is a very effective instrumental version but in my opinion the vocal is in the very heart of this top anthem. Love iT!
