REVIEW: Solarstone vs Scott Bond - 3rd Earth (Remixes) out on Captivating Sounds / Armada Music

1.3rd Earth (Heatbeat Remix)
2.3rd Earth (Max Graham Remix)
3.3rd Earth (Original Mix Re-Mastered)

Solarstone & Scott Bond’s ‘3rd Earth’ has ever left a spark upon the dance floor. Standing the test of time for over 8 years, it has grown into one of trance’s biggest classics. As we head for its 9 year anniversary, it’s time to celebrate with a set of brand new remixes, by Max Graham and Heatbeat!

Richard Mowatt and Scott Bond, two UK producers that have helped shaping the trance scene into the massive scene it is today. Responsible for a range of legendary classics, it’s their collaborative ‘3rd Earth’ that truly stands out in the legacy of trance. This remix pack doesn’t only include the remixes by Max Graham and Heatbeat, but also the Re-mastered original, sounding just as powerful as the first time you’ve heard it.

Canada’s Max Graham, no stranger to classics himself, brings out the deep, warm and melodic side of ‘3rd Earth’, giving it a proggy treatment without losing its trancy character. Argentinean duo Heatbeat have the reputation to light things up, and so they do with ‘3rd Earth’. A bulky, big-bassed remix with strong synth-works is the result.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most anticipated re-releases of the year is of course Solarstone vs Scott Bond Gatecrasher classic 3rd Earth. Its one of those trance tracks that never fail to move your spirit and make you feel uplifted travelling with your mind towards the 3rd Earth. Of course its a difficult task to pick up the right remixers who can shake, re-shuffle and make the classic a current trance favourite. As it seems the team at Armada  Music found the most appropriate people to bring two big club smashers on two different directions. Heatbeat well known for their hard hitting basslines and sharp productions provide a stunning big room interpretation that is rough and booming but at the same time respects the original synthy melody and make great use of it and elevates the whole track to another dimension without doubts. Max Graham is on board as well and he is stunning as always to service a full on driving tribal proglifting trance beauty with cinematic breakdown with the church like choir and big chunks of synthy stabs to raise the hair from our back. Just imagine the cheers of the crowd when they realise that this is a new version of the magical 3rd Earth. The best news is that the package includes the superb original remastered perfectly for the needs of the itunes generation. Love IT!
