Jessie Ware: Welcome to the future of pop
With its slightly melancholy-tinged voice in which an enormous amount of soul resonates, her fantastic songwriting skills and her charismatic presence, does the name Jessie Ware for the beginning of a new era. What distinguishes her: Her debut album Devotion combines ultra-modern and contemporary R & B sound, and various forms of electronic music from UK with great melodramatic gestures of icons such as Sade and Whitney Houston.
Jessie was born in South London and even as a student started to be interested in singing - meadow the trigger was the audio cassettes of Frank Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald. One day, finally her old high school friend and musician Jack Penate called her and persuaded Jessie to perform the backing vocals for a BBC live session with Zane Lowe.
The ball really started rolling, Penate and Jessie Ware toured together and came up with the British artists SBTRKT and Sampha in contact. The collaboration inspired her finally to her first and only solo album Devotion (produced by Dave Okumu, Julio Bashmore and Kid Harpoon) and presents 11 decelerates-permeable songs, situated somewhere between soul and pop and R & B.
The new single "Running" is the substantive continuation of her song "Sweet Talk", which is about the desperate love for a person with whom you come back again and again, even though you actually know that it is hopeless. "Running" explores the consequences of "Sweet Talk".
For Jessie, who is especially proud of "running" as she considers it as one of the key songs on the album. In addition in this piece, she presents herself as graceful, dramatic and diva-like than ever before and she will rise easily to the league of big pop stars. "Running" with its simple but intense chorus draws all the attention to Jessie herself - and to her unique voice.

Dimitri Kechagias review: It seems that the UK music industry is on the rise again with amazing new singers who recycle in the best possible way passed eras of pop music but with modern 2012 touch of course. The retro-mania continues big time with Jessie Ware who goes back to the soulful roots of pop music of the 80's with a voice that definitely recalls Sade or Whitney Houston fantastic performances in her well known ballads. Running is simply irresistable, magical, mystical late night pop love song that radio stations will adore and playlist it mostly during the night shift as the track is so erotic, sexy and tantalising. Light up those candles and let the music do the rest as Running will relax your senses and put you in that mood of love making. Of course for the eclectic deep house/tech house floors the package includes the top notch Disclosure remix that has an early 90's atmosphere to it. Playful, funky and groovy to the maximum is the kind of remix that you drop either as warm up tune or early in the morning/coming down, balearic type of track. With great influences from wide variety of genres and the excellent delicate black velvet like Jessie Ware voice its for sure the most appropriate remix for the brilliant original. Love iT!
