Dimitri Kechagias reviews: One of the most important EDM artists in USA is of course George Acosta who is considered to be the true pioneer dj who has supported heavily trance in his dj sets in USA ahead of other. Currently his compositions belong to the more epic progressive house territories. The brand new release on his very cool label ACOMUSIC is the remake of one of the biggest and most beloved rave and trance classics called Dreams by Quench that is still played by some djs in their set and brings goosebumps instantly even after so many years. So for George was a true challenge to put his hands on that record without hurting the feelings of the fanatics of the classic. As you can easily guess Mr Lost World Acosta did his magic thing with Dreams and he comes up with a totally new and refreshing approach to the original. Deep progressive trance basslines, wobbly balearic beats, haunting threatening atmospheres that lead us on the long and very cinematic breakdown that starts with excellent deep haunting melodies, dreamy vocals on the background and big strings. Then the classic church bell comes and we all get ready for the landing of the huge synthy riff that will raise definitely anything in your body that can stand up and still. Enormous the consequences on the dancefloor so better be warned. After the big synthy storm he carrys on the usual deep proggy sound until to reach the final breakdown that bells and the big synthy appars for another shorter time along with a groovy electro style sequence. If you go for deeper progressive trance and progressive house sounds you will adore it big time. The remix package includes the deep tech house remix by George F & Tekkman who manage to compose a hypnotic soundcscape that the sound layers are continuously build and evolve with blissful electronic style melodies and groovy chunky beats. It includes tribal and prog house references as well and is one of those versions that someone who loves the longer sets will adopt it straight away. Pure perfection on that very surprising version. Last remix comes from The bodytrap who deliver a version that is characterised as Trap Music that according to Urban Dictionary is a very interesting hybrid of dubstep, dub, hip hop vocals and in our occasion an electro sequence as well. It combines various styles and references in order to build the tension and add some melodrama to the proceedings. At the end includes a small outro sequence of hard old school trance 4 to 4 beats. I'm sure that fans of that style will find it really attractive. Dreams is back!!! Love IT!
