Born Thibaut Berland in 1981, he went on to study graphic design at Supinfocom, a computer graphics university. It was around this time that he got into making music and producing and directing short films. One of these short films “Overtime with Oury Atlan and Damien Ferrié” went on to win "Best Graduate Film" in 2005 at Ottawa International Animation Festival, as well as being awarded "Young Animation Award" in 2006 at the Internationales Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart. After leaving university Berland began producing advertisements and videos.

Meanwhile, he continued to work on his solo music projects. He initially made a name for himself in 2006 with a remix of Justice's "Let There Be Light" that was included on the Waters of Nazareth EP released in Japan.

In 2007 Breakbot made his production debut with the Happy Rabbit EP on the Klee label. In the meantime, he established himself as an in-demand remixer, working on tracks by Digitalism, Sebastien Tellier, Röyksopp, and many others.

In May 2009 Breakbot signed with Ed Banger Records and in 2010 made his production debut with the Baby I'm Yours EP.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Breakbot is one of the hottest properties of the French new electro pop  wave of  producers with several wonderful tracks in his back catalogue including Baby, I`m Yours  and Fantasy.  Now its the time for the world to taste his chocolate flavour of his album By Your Side. The brand new single taken from this album is the fantastic One Out of Two. You can expect a blissful retro disco house sweet anthem on the Bee Gees style with warm melody and plenty of moments to dream away. The remix package released on Ed Banger/Warner includes some fantastic versions perfect for wide variety of club situations. Oliver Remix is an 80's electro pop version that adds some electronica vibes on the great disco sound of the original. Sneaks Dream Club mix is a powerful bouncy tech house smasher that is tough, dark, driving and real cracker for sure. Its like eating dark chocolate. Get A Room Remix is a fantastic chunky electro house smasher with great rhythm, uplifting synths, distorted robotic style vocals and latin feel as well. Its a sure crowd pleaser for sure. You can not stand still when you hear this monster version and while I'm writing these lines I'm dancing too, its hard thing to do i can assure you. Last but not least  Sneak's for the Ladies Club mix is a more mainstream ladies friendly version by the master of USA house sound dj Sneak with great funky guitar licks, chunky beats, wonderful retro atmosphere, excellent percussion and the great vocals from the original on the second part of it.
