REVIEW: Pete Lazonby - Sacred Cycles out on Molecule recordings

1.Sacred Cycles (Nick Stoynoff Remix)
2.Sacred Cycles (Nicolas Agudelo Remix)
3.Sacred Cycles (Medway Dub Mix)

A classic from the Hooj Choons catalogue here we have some fresh mixes and some previously unreleased rarites. The weapon of choice in this pack is Nick Stoynoff's masterful remix with its huge widescreen big prog room production and intelligent use of elements from the Original track. Nicholas Aguedelo strips things back in his jagged analogue interpretation. From the archive we have found a Dub of Medway's classic remix from 2000 which still sounds fantastic today.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One the best ever produced Electronic Dance music track is knocking our doors again with some fantastic new versions and an unreleased dub as well. Sacred Cycles by  Pete Lazonby  is one of those records that whenever I listen to it I get immediately goosebumps and waves of excitement flood all over me. Molecule recordings headed by Rich Solarstone takes care of the new remixes and  as you rightly expect  the best possible remixers were commissioned to bring this evergreen classic updated. The superb and quickly rising artist Nick Stoynoff  transforms the original into a deep brooding progressive house jewel with minimal drum beat that stays at the background and offers movement to the dancefloor while the main atmospheric ambient sounds and mysterious melodies are taking the front seat.  Haunting sounds create a cinematic soundscape that produces thousands of mental images for the dancers who will be fully absorbed from its sounds. Nicolas Agudelo adds his minimal progressive house touch with  chunky drum  beats, brand new electronic style melodic riffs and in the breakdown the unforgettable easily recognisable main melodic theme from the original is added without distortions to wake up memories from the early days of the Northern Exposure sound established by Sasha & John Digweed. The package includes the unreleased Medway dub remix that sounds so fantastic with the deep tribal drum beats, great percussion and lively rhythm. Its such a brilliant idea to bring this golden classic back. Love IT!
