Carried upon the warm, sultry air of summer, is one of the most seductive Gaia anthems Armin van Buuren has ever produced. To give this summer a proper kick-off, Armin now presents the remix pack of ‘J’ai Envie De Toi’, with the kicks of Protoculture and Tom Fall!
When ‘J’ai Envie De Toi’ got its first round of plays, it unlocked a new rage around trance land. As the follow-up to previous Gaia tunes, such as ‘Tuvan’, ‘Aisha’ and classic ‘4 Elements’, it grew into another crowd’s favourite, and a real highlight to each of Armin’s sets and live broadcasts of his ASOT shows. Though its original spark will continue to glow for much longer, it’s time for a different taste of the smooth trancer, with the official remix pack.
You could guess by the driving bass, the deep melody and strong emotional current, that the Protoculture remix is of no other man’s hand but South-African producer Nate Raubenheimer. The gifted producer has become a favorite amongst Armin fans, and for good reason. Praised for his originals and remixes, we also find Finnish talent Tom Fall on duty.

His trousy interpretation of ‘J’ai Envie De Toi’ has got some real power, swaying to rough edges and booming bass. A big-room adventure to light the long nights ahead of us.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Gaia is the pure trance project of the superstar dj, producer, label owner and radio host Armin van Buuren who always raise the bar and set the trends for the rest of the producers to follow. J'ai Envie De Toi became very quickly an anthem because of its high levels of clean and pure energy, intensity that brings the ultimate rush to the listener and the cinematic breakdown that includes great sound effects and the very sexy French vocals that really add to its atmosphere. Stand out point of the original was the rave style synthy melody that seems after this track to pop up and be imitated from others as well. What I really like about the original is the addition in the background of the folk style flute melody that takes our minds back to Renaissance years. The original is much praised and is already labelled as classic for many in their collection. Now is the time for the new generation of the upcoming producers who of course mention Armin as source of influence and inspiration to come at the forefront and deliver their interpretations and bring this classic back to the mainstage of the summer festivals. Protoculture who is one of my all time favourite producers reshapes and recreates the original in his own well known and established style but with big respect to the original. His bubbly warm progressive trance sound with the fantastic unique percussion style and the rolling drum beats combined with driving basslines and the lovely soothing melodies on top from the original has as a result a stunning remix that pushes the original into another dimension for sure. The heavenly style choir voices along with that female vocal in the breakdown will make many to scream and shout just before the drum beat returns along with the flute and synthy melody for an unforgettable and really travelling and hypnotic climax. On the other hand Tom Fall who currently produces fantastic music is the best choice to inject to the original that full on epic prog house meets prog Big room trance sound. The result is a massive remix that will easily crossover to both camps of house and trance and will introduce the track to a wider audience as well. Full on rocking beats, basslines rough and slamming and melodic elements of the original applied in the best possible way transform the tripping original into a fat and furious nu-rave club slammer with strong trance influence of course. I guess that is very hard to find the right remixes to make an already perfect track something bigger and as it seems Armin spotted the right producers to bring an alternative but respectful eye to the original. Love iT! Don't forget that its that time of the year that we should manifest our love and admiration for Armin and his continuous belief in trance by voting for him for the dj mag top 100 djs list.
