Former vocalist for Basement Jaxx/Dj & songwriter Ami Carmine has teamed up with UK based Multi-vocalist and Beatboxing pioneer Killa Kela, to form the explosive new duo THEM&US.
Between the pair, THEM&US have collaborated with many influential artists across the globe incl. Prince, Pharrell Williams, Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx, Plan B, KT Tunstall, Pendulum, Does It Offend You?Yeah?, JackBeats, Gary Barlow, Hadouken, The Freestylers and Printz Board of The Black Eyed Peas.
Their first EP, being released on Rub A Duck is their soundtrack to the ‘Blame It!’ art/music tour ‘All Dolled Up’, that hit Europe at the beginning of March 2012.
Inspired by the duo the tour (supported by Reebok) merged the concept of model Muni Dolls, professional artists, and live music to create a vibrant exhibition and show, bridging everything that THEM&US stand for creatively. It included musical performances from producers/remixers of the Them&Us EP, featuring: The Stanton Warriors (producers of the EP’s lead track “Lose Control”), Antoine Harispuru (of Golden Bug, GOMMA records), Romania’s finest Akim & Rub A Ducks most recent remixers The 601.
Collaboratively, this EP connects the styles & music of the tour with the vocal gymnastics of Them&Us.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Rub A Duck brings to the EDM world another high quality EP with fantastic tracks that combine the past, present and future of EDM. Them & US is a new project that can have very easily success in the underground or mainstream as it has a lot of potential with superb sounds and excellent vocal performances. Lose Control is produced by Stanton Warriors and you can expect a romantic mixture of breaks, funky, groovy electronica melodic themes merged perfectly in order to give birth to a totally unique style. Drenchtown in its original mix combines rolling drums, tribal style beats and trip hop sounds with marvelous vocals by Ami. Her exceptional vocals enrich the track with uplifting feel goodness and positivity too. Akim Remix has darker trippy mysterious cinematic atmosphere. This remix brings to my mind the sounds of Massive Attack, Tricky and Portishead too. 601 Mashup is the drum n bass version with old school rave elements and superb use of the quality vocals. Lose Control is remixed by Antoine Harispuru who creates a very nice retro dub style version. The package includes a Dub mix of Lose Control by Stanton Warriors. Guitar Riffs, hi nrg synthy layers and playful composition turns this great track into a Hit record for the summer. Love IT!
