Muzikjunki and Flash Republic team up for the new single “Robot” on the Black Hole imprint.
After his successful 2008 remake of Colonel Abrams' classic hitsingle "Trapped", Muzikjunki put his name on the world's dance map with a bang. He has performed for major brands like Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Moscow’s hottest club Discodome and played alongside Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Ferry Corsten, Axwell and many more. Muzikjunki’s most recent single with Russian superstar DJ Danila, "Without You" was one of the most played tracks in summer 2011, supported by Tiësto, Steve Angello, Axwell, Avicii, Roger Sanchez and others, confirming that Muzikjunki's blend of house, hip hop, electro and a touch of progressive with dirty beats, gritty bass lines and catchy vocals attracts even the biggest names.
Well-known South African act Flash Republic's career kicked off in 2005 with their debut hit "Time Is Now". Later chart-topping radio singles, including "Twister" even earned the respect of heavy weight remixers such as Seamus Haji, StoneBridge, Thomas Gold, Prok & Fitch, Fonzerelli, Bellatrax and Henry John Morgan. “Robot” is the first collaboration of Muzikjunki and Flash Republic, whose style now perfectly fuses with Muzikjunki's sound.
The single is the prelude for Muzikjunki's upcoming album "Junkyard Stories" and for this package, the original version of “Robot” has been remixed by the famous Peter Gelderblom, Hot Hotels and Muzikjunki himself for the Retro Rework. Don’t miss this one!
Dimitri Kechagias review: These clever A&R people at the Black Hole recordings office bring you another super large album for your summer parties by Muzikjunki called Junkyard Stories. The first taster from it is the fantastic Robot with the excellent South African group Flash Republic on vocal duties. The release is packed with superb versions that is pretty hard to choose which one is the appropriate for your sets. First of all is the awesome club mix. Progressive house at its finest with crunchy techy tribalish beats merged with cool melody and the fantastic vocal delivery by Flash Republic. It sounds in my ears a classic in the making and one that will dominate the playlists this summer. The legend and hit maker Peter Gelderblom from Rotterdam, The Netherlands in on board and he recreates the fantastic original into a superb tech house beauty that is deep groovy and so funky too that you want to let your body go along with it. Great dramatic breakdown and superb build up will hypnotise you on the dancefloor for sure. Hot Hotels is a cool electro house rework with retro touch to it, funky guitar licks and cool melodic layers creating the perfect Ibiza terrace style version. Just imagine dancing along with it in a nice Ibiza Hotel beach bar. There is a cool dub version as well for the non vocal fans. Last but not least MJ Retro remix is a playful deep sparkling version that will become an absolute favourite with the richness of sounds and the update of some old school house samples. ALERT! Its a summer anthem, Love iT!
