Considering over 30 million people viewed the Tomorrowland 2011 ‘after movie’, and with over 1 million facebook fans to their name, it will come as no surprise to anyone that the 2012 edition has completely sold out, in record speed, and just minutes after going on sale at 10AM GMT.
After a complete server meltdown when tickets went on sale for an exclusive Belgian pre-sale two weeks ago, organizers upped the ante and took to global servers in preparation for the main sale that took place on Saturday 7th April.
Early figures from Tomorrowland's official hosting partner, however, indicate that at the time tickets went on sale at 10AM GMT over 2 million people were in line, ready and waiting to purchase a ticket. This resulted in a staggering peak of more than 100 MILLION clicks in a matter of seconds, which in turn caused another unavoidable crash of www.tomorrowland.be The ticketing page remained intact and ran smoothly.
The festival capacity of 180,000 including thousands that opted for the festival’s ‘Dreamville’ luxury camping option is now SOLD OUT, making this the fastest selling edition of Tomorrowland ever.
International interest in Tomorrowland has been unprecedented for the 7 year old now 3 day event, which will this year welcome thousands of people who’ll fly into Belgium on specially branded jets in a unique partnership with Brussels Airlines.
