REVIEW: Omnia & Ira - The Fusion out on Coldharbour/Armada Music

1.The Fusion (Original Mix)
2.The Fusion (Eximinds Remix)

Featuring on both Markus Schulz’s Los Angeles ’12 and Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance 2012 compilations is quite an achievement. But for talented Ukranian Omnia, it is just the latest step in his ascending career as a producer, and in parallel, projects Smart Apes member DJ Ira to the forefront. They combine to present “The Fusion”.

Omnia is no stranger to Coldharbour followers, with his remix of Markus Schulz’s seminal Surreal in 2011 amassing a plethora of plaudits. Together with The Blizzard, he has been part of some of the most well received melodic tracks in recent years, such as “My Inner Island”, and the beautiful “Closer” which featured the wonderful vocals of Susana. Ira’s work as Smart Apes has also struck a chord with Global DJ Broadcast, notably with their track “Perfect”.

Since the turn of the year, very few tracks have garnered as much attention as The Fusion. Not just with its two compilation berths, the track has featured extensively in both Markus and Armin’s livesets, from the release parties at Avalon in Los Angles and the Global DJ Broadcast World Tour from the Guvernment in Toronto, to the opening night of the A State of Trance 550 celebrations in London and a proud moment for Omnia himself playing in front of his fellow country members in Kiev.

As well as the original, Markus kindly supplies his own reconstruction of the track, crafted specifically for the Los Angeles ’12 compilation.

Many are citing the track as a track of the year contender already. And with heavyweight support behind it, The Fusion looks set to explode further.

Dimitri Kechagias review: When you notice from a compilation certain tracks to climb high at the charts before even getting a release as singles you know that you deal with a superb anthem that deserves all the massive hype around it. Omnia & Ira combine their creative forces to deliver The Fusion, a smashing track that includes one of the most memorable melodies that is merged with twisted squeezed vocal and is about to  bring instantly shivers all over your bodies. It starts on the progressive trance tip but suddenly goes all the way for a dubstep electro house rough part and very soon lands on the first breakdown that this anthemic melody is revealed to cause some serious damage with the crowd going ballistic for sure. Of course the track is characterised from its tendency to fuse trance with other genres of EDM and create something new and exciting that trance fans are openminded enough  to accept. If you want a straight forward melodic trance version the awesome and favourite of mine project Eximinds deliver the creative fruits and provide a high class remix that this anthem deserves. Full on and uplifting to its maximum the breakdown with the piano melody and then the big build up for the main part will move thousands of clubbers without trying to much. To state that this the track of the year its too early but definitely we know from now one of the tracks that trance djs will play the most at the big festivals worldwide. Coldharbour at its best! Love it!
