REVIEW: Andrew Bayer - You/Community/Brick feat. Alison May out on Anjunadeep

1-Andrew Bayer - You
2-Andrew Bayer feat. Alison May - Brick
3-Andrew Bayer - Community

Considering his eclectic exploits over the past 18 months, it was hardly surprising that Andrew Bayer was one of the star performers on this year's "Anjunadeep 04" - contributing the brilliant "You" and three impressive joint remixes with label head James Grant.

Directly inspired by Andrew's Ibizan experiences with the Anjuna crew, and specifically James Grant and Above & Beyond's Anjunadeep-inspired boat party sets, "You" is Bayer's take on the current trend for electronic but organic deep house; glistening with Balearic warmth.

Different from anything he has done before, but bringing his trademark musicality and distinctive touches to the sound, "You" marries warm and infectious grooves, cut-up vocal flourishes, a live percussive feel and even subtle trumpets with a blissful approach to melody and an epic breakdown.

A track with a cult following thanks to it appearance on Bayer’s TATW guest mix last July, "Community" is well known by his most keen eared fans and represents a subtle homage to the classic tripped-out progressive trance sound of acts like James Holden and Nathan Fake – all stamped with Bayer's unique approach.

Also featuring on that much-loved TATW guest mix, "Brick" is a glorious woozy ambient hip-hop excursion; again bathed in sunshine.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunadeep is back with a thrilling EP of 3 high quality electronica tracks by the hands of the very talented Andrew Bayer. Once again he impress us all with his undeniable ability to compose so exceptional tracks that are so deep and rich in sound textures, full of great  melodies and at the same time so dancefloor ready. You is such a nice blissful deep house/deep progressive track with balearic house feel, tribal driving grooves and  lovely vocal sample singing  the word You. It starts all quite and relaxing but slowly the beat becomes more intense and the whole production shines with quality. Even a distant saxophone sample is included as well to create that summery atmosphere.  Second track is Brick by  Andrew Bayer feat. Alison May that is  a cool laidback experimental track perfect for lounge/chill out sets. The production is full of surprises with  playful cool groovy parts, distortions and many effects as well. Last but not least is the track Community. Its a great hybrid of deep progressive house/trance and electro with ambient and jazz influences as well. It's perfect for minimal environments that the eclectic audience is ready to let all the inhibitions and experience  the mysterious and infectious Andrew Bayer creative world. Love It!
