REVIEW: Danny Powers - Switchblade out on Discover Digital

1-Original Mix
2-Estigma Remix

Nu Depth label owner and established producer Danny Powers returns to the Discover fold with his first release of 2012 - the gorgeously melodic and powerful Switchblade.

In the last few years Danny has rightly found his productions on some of the worlds biggest trance compilations and on the playlists of the trance elite.

This release looks set to continue that trend as Danny continues to develop his sound.

Backed up with a quality remix from Estigma who finished last year with two excellent remixes for Sean Tyas and Manuel Le Saux, both on Discover, this is an impressive start to the year for both Danny and Estigma.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The top UK trance label Discover Digital just landed with a superb tune to start your February in great style. The talented as label owner and great producer and dj as well Danny Powers provide the massive tune entitled Switchblade ready to conquer the uplifting and tech trance floors. Danny's own original mix is a solid melodic trancer on the uplifting tip and I can even say stays faithful to the Discover records classic sound that loves some toughness and techyness within the uplifting recipe. It has the energy and the dynamism the dancefloor needs but also that bitterness and sharpness too. The breakdown is very euphoric with exciting mega huge synthy lead that will blow your mind for sure. When the beat returns back Danny goes for a "nasty" tech trance part where the bass has the first role as he plays around with his melodies giving us some hints of them. Estigma has the mission to deliver the straight forward feel good uplifting trance version that is very creative as well as he adds very cool melodic layers and even some dark twisted vocals as well. The breakdown is mind blowing and will get your hands in the air without even thinking about it. After the massive drum roll and some moment of silence he goes for a bouncy sharp part but very soon the melodic layers are back to add some colour in the moody tech trance part. The track finishes off in the best possible way and you know after dropping it that nothing will be the same. This is what I call UK Tech Trance! Love It!
