Something a little bit different here to herald the Remix edition release of Solarstone's critically acclaimed 'Touchstone' album. A Richard Mowatt vocalled release is always a treat for Solarstone fans, the Original & Radio versions of Solarstone's 'Best Way' fuse his love of sophisticated melancholic electronica & warm cinematic production & the elegant official video is hitting TV stations worldwide about now too.
Max Essa provides two contrasting remixes on the italo disco tip, the 'Club Vocal Remix' nods its head at Rollo's classic remix of Pet Shop Boys 'Can You Forgive Her' with its analogue vocal cuts whereas Max's 'Back 2 The Future Dub' owes a debt of gratitude to Shep Pettibone's early 80s tape edits.
Miss Nine's slightly Swedish house-meets-trance remix has been causing a youtube-stir for the past few months, with spins from 16 Bit and Kristen herself on her Tiesto support dates. It is proper big-room stuff, the classy vocal is firmly in place backed by solid beats and stark, piercing riffs; but for instrumental lovers we've also included a Miss Nine Dub which focuses on the melodies.
Northern Ireland's Walsh & McAuley provide the main room trance mix, they clearly have their finger on the production pulse with wideroom pans, pulsing synth stabs and a smattering of glitchy filters throughout the mix.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The always on top and high quality Rich Solarstone returns with another jewel from his fantastic album Touchstone entitled The Best Way To Make Your Dreams Come True Is To Wake Up. This release comes surprisingly not on Solaris but on Solarstone very own more progressive electronica label Molecule. The original is a wonderful dreamy electro pop tune that will bring 80's in your memory for sure. Rich vocals are mindblowing as he sounds so expressive and he manages to capture in his voice all the emotions that this song can bring to its potential audience. Its fragile, intense, dreamy, melancholic and at the very same time so dynamic. The remix package includes versions from Max Essa, Miss Nine & Walsh & McAuley. Miss Nine that slowly builds great reputation around her name provides a beautiful balearic progressive house version that starts with warm percussion, electro and rocky influences that sound like the perfect soundbed for Rich vocals to unfold and feed you with warmth and security. There is a dub version for those who love to play it without vocals in an instrumental based set. Last but not least my favorite version comes from Walsh & McAuley who deliver a magnificent deep progressive trance mix that is feel good all the way with floating driving beats and the right synths to lead the track to its climax in the main part. The Irish duo add on top the balearic guitar riff that will be in your head for days for sure. Superb release better not to missed it. Love IT!
