The latest single to descent from John O’Callaghan’s thirds artist album ‘Unfold’, is the dark, powerful ‘Mess Of A Machine’ featuring LA-singer Kathryn Gallagher. Could this be the next big thing to follow-up ‘Big Sky’?
Singles ‘Perfection’, ‘Save This Moment’, ‘Bring Back The Sun’ and ‘Talk To Me’ made up for countless highlight moments in 2011. Coming from the strong 14-pieced ‘Unfold’ album created by no one less than Irish producer/DJ John O’Callaghan, these singles put the hands up high, made the shout-outs shatter and the hearts pound faster. As ‘Unfold’ travels into 2012, it presents its next piece: ‘Mess Of A Machine’. Featuring the deep, warm vocals of US vocalist Kathryn Gallagher, this atmospheric and somewhat eerie twist of prog and trance takes you in from the very first note.
With the original sitting on the proggy end, John gave Swiss-based producer Sean Tyas the duty to create a thick, powerful tech-trancy remix. And so he did. Dutchman Sied van Riel takes a completely different path to dance floor fixation, turning it into a playful bass-monster with immediate impact.

Dimitri Kechagias review: John O Callaghan and his label Subculture considered as one of the driving forces of the global trance scene. The talented Irish man knows what your dancefloor asks for and deliver it without delays or compromises. Mess Of A Machine is a beautiful deep proglifting trancer with those hair raising warm quircky rocky vocals by Kathryn that sounds so gifted and perfect for the electro prog trance beats that John composes with so much flair and talent. Sied van Riel transforms the original track into a big room monster size anthem with fantastic drums, superb beats and huge breakdown with ultra large trance siren like big room riff that will make many clubbers lost it even for some minutes. Lastly on the package is the crowned ASOT tune of the week remix by Sean Tyas. Once again the talented dj and producer surprise us all as he delivers a superb version that stands out by far. So melodic, floating and feel good from very early on. The first breakdown will surprise you as the lovely vocal sounds distant and far a way until the top notch piano riffs comes in to take over the proceedings. Shortly after the tech trance influenced beats will lead us on the main breakdown that will bring the ultimate euphoria on the trancefloor. Get ready to see boys and girls become one mass and dancing along with it trying to sing a bit of the top vocal as well. Top single with 3 excellently produced versions to choose from. Love It!
