1.Whatever (Original Mix)
2. Whatever (So Called Scumbags Remix)
3.Vega (Original Mix)
Grin Recordings present the 'Whatever / Vega' EP, the first collaboration (of many) from London based DJ/producers Tim Cullen & DJames.
'Whatever' features an upbeat filtered disco groove which keeps the dance-floor poised from start to finish. This track is topped off by a spoken vocal in the breakdown, courtesy of uber-talented singer Trudi Mosiamo.
Grin head honchos So Called Scumbags turn in a remix of massive proportions adding rare groove elements to their percussive house sound.
'Vega' adds a darker, deeper side to the EP. One for the early morning dance-floors for sure!!
Grin resident Tim Cullen has had an outstanding 2011 so far, having had numerous tracks supported by the world's top DJs His remix of 'So Called Scumbags' Punch hit the #2 spot on djdownload.com earlier this year, and is still tearing up dance-floors around the globe. Tim is also gaining some great live gigs, including a closing set in the Box at The Ministry of Sound alongside Laidback Luke at the official SW4 festival after-party.
Tim Cullen & D-James - Whatever / Vega EP by tim_cullen
Dimitri Kechagias review: Grin recordings continues to be as cutting edge as possible with a brand new release courtesy of T.Cullen & Djames who deliver two top notch tracks ready to offer that warm welcoming feeling to any club that will be dropped. Whatever is a big chunky disco house track with French house influences and great dirty naughty spoken vocal in the breakdown. It has the groove to make us move up and down for sure. The variety of influences in play make this tune really special. So called Scumbags add that extra fat and weight that they only know how to do it. Its more meaty bouncy thick and stomping perfect for peak time prog house moments on the tribalish tip. Vega is on the same direction like the previous one but minus the vocal. It sounds like a dub of Whatever or if you want a more prog tribal house darker alternative without the vocal of course. Its definitely a release that will shine in your digital collection.
