REVIEW: Sean Tyas - Lift (2011 Remixes Part 1) out on Discover

1) Sean Tyas Live Rework
2)Thomas Datt Remix
3) Estigma Remix
4) Matt Skyer Remix

In 2006 Discover released a track that would go on to be one of a very small number of tracks that can genuinely be described as a classic.

Sean Tyas's "Lift" sold literally thousands of units worldwide and helped launch the career of one of the biggest names on the current trance DJ and production scene.

Fast forward five years and the announcement of a re release got everyone excited and ultimately led to a remix competition with over 300 entries.

The package is simply too big to contain on one release so this first part sees Sean's own Live Rework head up the package - a version which until now has only ever been released on the Trance Pioneers album series and is the version that Sean prefers to play live.

Backing this up is our competition winner is Matt Skyer who was voted by the public on Facebook and who now sits alongside Discover A lister Thomas Datt and the exciting South American producer Estigma who has a string of label productions to his name including previous releases with Recoverworld.

With these remixes the track gets some exciting new interpretations with the reworked original reminding us that Sean's classic sounds as fresh today as it it did when it was first released.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the finest Sean Tyas classics strikes back with brand new remixes. Discover offer us the first part of the new package of impressive mixes. First of  Sean Tyas Live Rework is uplifting powerful dynamic trance at its best with ace basslines and that unforgetable melody that wins your heart from the very first note. Its straight to the point and is doing exactly the job that you are asking for. Thomas Datt Remix has a progressive trance touch to it. Its more playful and airy fairy but equally energetic and involving. Thomas Datt never fails me and in this remix he proves his worth. Estigma well known for his banging hard trance style delivers tougher rework that will satisfy those who search for a trance turnado in their sets. Last but not least  Matt Skyer goes for a sharper tech trance version that applies the original melody but in the main part goes for a bass focused ride. Its great alternative for the tech trance djs who wish to have a version of this classic close to what they play and now they got it!  Lift 2011 remixes will Uplift You for sure.
