Re-Zone and Damasko teamed up for this brand new single “Fine Day” on the Avanti imprint.
“Fine Day” is one of those perfect tracks for an hours long progressive live set in either a packed club, a large and sunny outdoor event or an intimate beach party with friends and loved ones. Re-Zone and Damasko took their time to slowly build the track from the ground up and created a deceivingly basic sounding arrangement that gets more complex while the beats pound away. The strong framework of beats, insisting percussion and a deep bass line keep the fire burning on the dance floor while in the meantime the boys add far away sounding synth and string chords and stabs; the perfect ingredients for a superb progressive cut like this one. A lonely sounding trumpet in the break automatically puts everyone’s focus on the incredibly smooth synth layers that come your way and the entire dance floor will feel the tension as “Fine Day” moves towards a terrific break.
The remix, done by Fox MacLeod, truly is a tribute to the electronic bands from eighties. We hear references to classic Depeche Mode, New Order and even a bit of Human League in the synth programming and all these little but important details guarantee you one thing: that you have a superb remix in hands.
