REVIEW: E.Morillo ft Audio Bullys - Break Down The Doors(Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike)

1-Break Down The Doors (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike remix)

Legendary DJ, producer and head honcho of Subliminal Records, Erick Morillo is bang on the money yet again as he drafts in the remix skills of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to rework one of his biggest ever hits, for upcoming compilation Subliminal Remixed Vol 2.

Break Down The Doors gets the Deep Down Dirty treatment from the boys from Belgium, who unleash their trademark and highly sought-after big room sound on this 2004 dance floor classic. Letting the original vocal run rampage over stomping beats and bleeps, Dimitri and Mike push the track through huge crescendos, letting it peak on tantalisingly euphoric tips before crashing and rolling back down into filthy, dark, peak-time breakdowns that should have the hairs on the back of your neck standing to attention and your hands firmly in the air as you demand more and more from the music.

The EP includes:

Erick Morillo feat Audio Bullys 'Break Down The Doors' Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike 'Deep Down Dirty' 2011 Mix
A fully dirty reinterpretation that gives Erick and the Bully's classic a new swagger. Massive drops and plenty of stomp, with the vocal sounding as good as ever.

Harry Choo Choo Romero 'Night @ The Black' Nick & Danny Chatelain Remix
Pulling Harry's wickedly ass shakin' Latin guitar romp into a tighter, more thundering groove. The essential carnival spirit with crazy stabs and extra bump!

Herd & Fitz feat Abigail Bailey 'I Just Can't Get Enough' Nyx Syrinx Nelio & Mr Keys 2011 Remix
A shimmering new direction for this classic house groover, making Abigail Bailey's accomplished vocal feel more urgent, dramatic and intoxicating than ever.

In The Screen feat Rachael Starr 'We Are The Night' Thomas Sagstad & Mike Hawkins Remix
Making the vocal sound as haunting as ever, this version then switches up into a warm euphoric belter, the contrast working beautifully.

Jose Nunez 'Dance Again' Yanik Coen Remix

Buzzing and rolling inexorably towards Jose's classic loop, the tension builds and the sample drops, yet the driving rhythm keeps on pushing. You will certainly Dance Again...

Robbie Rivera 'Funkatron' Tocadisco Remix
Tocadisco leaves the essence of this all-time classic alone, and plays instead with making it sound thoroughly fresh and dynamic. Stripped back but still huge.

Dimitri Kechagias review: From this great remixes package I have in my hands to review the massive an very awesome Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike version. The boys are about to show to the world that some classics never die and they just came back again and again. In that way the Electronic Music Dance Culture and particularly house music continues through the years and the decades and attracts masses of followers worldwide. Who can not say that Breakdown the Doors is an awesome unforgetable classic that influence many young people to get in and explore the virtues of house music? Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike fresh from their USA tour that Smash it without  mercy deliver a version that respects the classic. It is not so fat and destroying like their latest big room projects and in a way offer only the needed tricks and twicks to make it sound fresh and relevant to 2011 audiences. The vocal is used and abused in the best possible way and here you have one of the best classic in a brand new shining package. Love IT!
