 Belarus' Poonky & Oxide blur the house / trance boundaries here with their sun-kissed balearic funky bassline stabbed slab of loveliness which is the Original Mix of 'Weekend' - taken from Solarstone's Electronic Architecture 2.

Alex Pich keeps things at a progressive tempo with gated synth pads and an old school organ stab bassline, washing the vocoders and arpeggios from the Original with lots of fx. This mix is all about a tight rolling groove.

Rave Channel introduce a phat warping bassline and some European sounding stabs from the kick off, then at the drop a nu-trance twisted riff builds and twists up to a huge big room pay-off.

Wrapping up the package, an beautiful Ambient mix taken from EA2 - The Ambient Edition is one for those laid back after hours sessions.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Poonyk & Oxide reputation is on the rise and definitely this release will elevate their status even more. Their track Weekend that is  part of EA2 compilation showcase their ability to merge and blur the boundaries between trance and house and produce their own unique sound that is characterised by its playful nature with electro twisted basslines and feel good summery balearic melodies to wonder around and recall those summer affairs. Warm and feel good its definitely the progressive sound of now. Alex Pitch from his side lead the track to the progressive trance territory  building a wonderful sound layer with intense progression of sound and melodies to keep our interest uninterupted and our feet on the floor without getting overexcited. If you look for a big room peak time version Rave Channel take care of it and service as a superb banging bouncy version with surprising twists in the main melody and strong big room riff for the hands in  the air moment. Last but least imagine playing in your living room on Sunday afternoon while you drinking your hot cup of tea the ambient version of Weekend that is included to close nicelly the proceedings. Great record for every single day of the week and not only for your Weekends.
